Can you truly capture the Essence of me?

I am ball full of confusion and illusion.

I am not what I may seem.

Can you truly feel the words that I speak?

These rhythms and rhymes, I lay to bare,

I take careful care to leave a piece of me behind.

Do you truly see what I pretend to be?

I perfected the part and got it down to a tee.

Illusionist, that is me.

Are you brave enough to see past me?

Break through these fortified steel barriers and find the heart underneath the layers.

Am I screaming loud enough for you?

Even though my voice never rises above a whisper, take the time to be a good listener.

If you truly capture the Essence of me,

Prêt ell.

Because I feel as though that part is hidden away from even me, and not plain to see.
