April 26, 2022...

A full moon was brightening the black sky of the town. Stars were appearing here and there, their white light growing as the night arrived. There were still some cars filling the roads with their loud motor and their shining though the cape of darkness. On the sidewalks were chatting people, walking to their home and loved ones. A light, but cold wind was swiftly moving through trees, followed by the sound of the rustling leaves. Only a small detail could break this moment of peace...

And the sirens started to rang. Blue and red lights were lighting the dark sky like in a disco. In the near of James White Boulevard, in a long alley of Sidney, the ringing was getting louder, closer. On the ground, the path was all wet and warm. If you would take a closer look, you'd see its reddish color spreading. A strong smell was surrounding the area, a smell no one could forget: blood. The liquid gave away the footprints of the two shadows stepping slowly away. Stepping away from the dirty corpses. What gave the two persons their shadow look were the long red cape they were wearing with a hood to hide their face. Two different heights – a tall form with a shorter one – yet the same speed of walk. Both left with the loud clapping sound of their boots hitting the rocky surface.

The police car finally arrived, stopping in front of the alley with the brakes screaming. A man of average high got out of it and ran over to the dead bodies, holding his gun in front of himself. From where he was, he couldn't see, because of the black cape of darkness, the two mysterious people walking away, but he knew they were there. He always knew they were. It was like the previous days, weeks and months since he arrived in the police of Sidney. Like the previous year.

« Stay where you are, murderers! he screamed with assurance. You committed enough deaths now! »

The two partners in crime stopped as the voice of the officer reached their ears. As they started laughing, they disappeared as fast as the officer bullet left the officer's gun. They escaped again, for the twentieth time this month. Like every mission before, they got what they wanted.
The policeman put his weapon back on his belt and walked back to his car with a long sight of discourage. With a depressed look on his face, he took the microphone attached to the ceiling of his car and took a big breath in before his report.

"Lieutenant, the victims were found dead again. The two fugitives are no different. I didn't get the chance to catch them. I'm sorry sir. Over".

Putting back the microphone to its place, the man took his hat off and dropped it on the sit next to his. His blue uniform was spotted from the blood of the three dead people of this night. His police plate was reflecting the headlights of a coming car. He raised his eyes, seeing the automobile pass by his and continuing its road.

Tonight again, the young policeman went back to the police office with a failed mission. Driving in Sidney to his destination, he kept thinking about the two red shadows. Who were they really? What were their future plans? When would they stop? Why were they doing all this?
The car stopped to its reserved parking and the unproud man got out. Walking in the station, he dragged his feet to his desk and opened his laptop to search information. At the bottom of his screen, we could see a new notification, a new video posted by The Red Doves...
