The young teen named Nick sat on a chair, not so far away from the table Suziky and Alan were on. As for Parker, he left the room so the visitors could question the youngest about his past life. Nick Afton's eyes were staring at Suziky's, then Alan's, completely unreadable. He kept that serious face, a little like Alan could do.
- So, Nick Afton, started Alan.
- Just Nick will do, sir, cut the concerned one.
- Sorry, Nick, apologized Alan. As I was about to ask, why are you here?
- Do I need a specific reason to be? said Nick, taking care to skip the question.
- No, you don't, spoke Suziky before Alan could answer. Though, could you talk a little about yourself and your life?
Nick was now staring at her. His blue eyes were fixed on her. It was enough scary to give a bit of chills to Suziky.
- Why should I? he slowly asked, after a quick moment.
- We only want to get to know you. You seem mysterious.
- You're lying, Nick continued.
- She is not lying, boy, said Alan.
- Your hands are always behind your back when you lie. Also, your eyes are looking around and your breathing gets faster, said Nick as a proof.
Alan took a look at his friend's hands : they were behind her back. Nick was right about her breathing being faster than usual, but her eyes were now staring at the ground. Suziky tried to calm herself down to act as natural as possible but gave up.
- I didn't lie about the fact that you seem mysterious, she started. But the reason why Alan and I are here is because some guy accuses you.
- For..., just said Nick.
- He told us that you were supposed to be in jail.
- Why would my place be there? I didn't do anything.
- Anyone could say that, commented Alan before shutting himself again.
- Our source of information didn't tell us more, said Suziky.
- And you are trusting him? asked Nick. That's stupid.
- I thought the same but miss...
- Alan, shut up, said Suziky.
- Sorry, "mom", Alan muttered, looking away.
- How can you be so sure that he doesn't lie? questioned Nick, ignoring what happened.
- We are not sure, but we are obligated to trust him.
Suziky explained to Nick what happened with Sora, without mentioning the warrior's name. She also excluded the fact Alan and she were working for a killer's gang. Nick was listening to everything, trying to understand.
- Wait, wait... said the teen. You are forced to send me to jail, or you are going there?
- Yes, answered Alan and Suziky at the same time.
- Is this weird guy you're working for a police officer or what?
- No, but he knows some... things that nobody should know, only answered Suziky.
- And now you want me to tell you my story to judge if I should go to jail for real? asked Nick, a little confused.
- Yea, pretty much, said Alan.
- And you think I will let you do that? Nick continued, now standing up.
- No, answered Suziky. But we tried to convince you nicely. Alan.
Before Suziky could even say something to intervene, Alan stood from his seat and jumped above the table to land right next to Nick. This one, surprised, didn't move a bit, making the task easier for Alan. He grabbed Nick from the waist and put him on his shoulder.
- Hey! Get me down! screamed Nick, hitting Alan's back with his fist.
- Nick..., tried to speak Suziky.
- Mr. Parker! shouted Nick as loud as possible before Alan blocked his mouth with his hand.
Nick bit the hand of the young adult, who screamed pain and anger before dropping Nick on the floor. The teen fell on the ground, his head hitting the floor. Before the victim could stand back up and escape, Suziky grabbed him by the back and slid a thin tissue on Nick's nose and mouth.
-Calm down, Nick, we wouldn't want to hurt you.
Nick tried to free himself, but Suziky was holding him tight. And even if he could escape, Alan had a knife out, ready to attack if necessary. Nick fought back for a moment, then, after taking a big breath of the chloroform on the white tissue, passed out. Alan lifted him up back on his shoulder and Suziky opened the way to the entrance.
Since the car was at the front of the base, Alan and Suziky deleted the idea of passing in the secured way. Silently, they walked all the way to the front door. Once they got inside, Suziky ran fast to the car, jumping above the big hole without problem due to the speed. She waited on the other side so Alan could pass her Nick.
With a dangerous risk of letting him fall, Alan threw Nick above the hole as far as he could. With some chance, Suziky caught Nick at the last second and got to pull him back on the ground without problem. When everyone was on the same side, they ran to the car where Jasminia was still waiting.
When the little girl saw them, she placed a confused look on her face, followed with a slight smile. Suziky opened the door and placed Nick on the seat next to Jasminia.- Hello, said the kid.
- He is sleeping, sorry, only said Suziky before closing the door.
Then, she opened her door and sat on the passenger seat. Alan got in the car as well and, when his door was closed, started the car and drove down fast. Jasminia was sometimes screaming because of the big shocks. Suziky held herself on the hold above her head and told Alan to slow down.
Not even 5 minutes later, the sirens were being heard at the bottom of the mountain.- Shit, said Alan.
- I don't think they saw us still, said Suziky. But Parker must've called them while we were escaping.
- Didn't he say he was a loner?
- Who is Parker? asked Jasminia at the back. And why is there sirens ringing?
- Don't mind them, dear, answered Suziky, looking at her from her seat. They are probably arresting someone or running after a criminal.
Alan kept driving down, his hands grabbing tight on the steering wheel. Suziky looked around to find a way to escape.
- Alan, let's not pass in front of the police : I wouldn't want Jasminia to see anything violent, started Suziky when the were near the sound.
- I'm fine with it, said Jasminia.
- But I'm not and I don't think Hana would either, said Suziky, looking at her, then looking back at Alan. There is a way at the left.
- You think we can pass? asked Alan.
- You are the driver: show us your skills.
