September 26, 2021...
The floor under Suziky's feet was dirtier day after day. And to think the officers were cleaning it once a week. But she was used to the dirty floor of her cell. She was also used to the thin slice of bread covered of butter, the salad and the glass of water she was receiving three times a day. And, of course, she was used to the questions we were asking her in private twice a week.
- Hi officer, how are you? I'm fine thank you. No, I don't know a thing about my boss or the people I'm working with and no, I can't tell you where the basement is since I never saw where we were bringing us. That's all? Have a nice day.
It was always the same thing. Nathan Ulician would come to her cell, open the door who was locking her away from the world and drag her to the questioning room. Then, after trying a thousand times to get answers, he would bring her back to where she has to be and lock her there again.
It was like a Monday and Tuesday routine for her now. And it was the same for Alan. When he woke up, like three days after his accident, he was sent in jail, accused of being Suziky's partner. There again, they asked him the same questions. Of course, the police and all Sidney knew about their crimes now.
From what Suziky heard, the officers couldn't put Arlen in prison. They found him, but Arlen was dead from suicide, so only his body was found. When she heard that, Suziky let out a slight smile, happy that her friend was at a better place than hers.
Sometimes, Alan and Suziky had the chance to meet in the cafeteria or during free times, where they could get outside and see the sun. Each time Suziky was putting a foot out, the heat and the shinning light of the sun were affecting her because of how long she stayed in her dark cell.
They were talking off nothing. Since their friendship were back to life, they just kept talking about anything when they could. When the officers were getting them back in, Alan and Suziky would separate and wait until the next opportunity to talk. They couldn't see each other while they were locked up since their cells were very far away from each other.
Surprisingly, Nathan was still kind with Suziky. He was the one bringing her food and taking care of her cell. He was also the one questioning her. At some point, they even got friendly talk about their family and friends. Suziky wished she could have met him before so their friendship would be stronger and maybe better.
Not only Nathan was taking care to talk to her. Hana was also coming to the office. Even after what she heard about Suziky, she kept contact with her and took news from her. She was taking breaks to come see her and cheer her up. Jasminia also joined her during some visits. She was often saying that Teiko understood and forgave her. But she never mentioned if she forgave Suziky.
Of course, Carolina took time to see Suziky and her son. She didn't really understand the reason of all this but she made the effort to come at least once a week. As for Nick Afton, who was supposed to be in jail, Suziky never saw him again. She thought he escaped at first but she heard he was only placed in another prison, not so far away from the one she was in.
Sora came one time to apologize. Suziky didn't really understand why since he wanted justice but he never explained himself, which put a question mark on the girl's face for a while. But at least, her friends were all ok. And even if the cell was dirty, little and dark, Suziky knew she deserved it.
Somehow, deep inside, she wanted to break out. She did a lot of nightmares and had insomnia. Many of her thoughts were weird, crazy... Psycho like Parker called her before dying from her hands. She tried to hide these feelings behind her usual attitude and face. Alan knew too much about her and found out soon enough.
They decided to speak about it and both of us had thoughts like these. From that day, they planned a way to escape. They worked on it, sometimes together, sometimes on their sides. From A to Z, the formed a plan. They spied on some officers, mostly Mr. Ulician. They informed themselves from the other prisoners without catching their attention or giving them ideas.. . .
- You better be ready for it, said Alan. This is going to be hard and we can't fail a thing.
Suziky and Alan were talking about the last details. It was a Monday afternoon and Suziky came back of her questionary with the nice Nathan.
- If we miss something, continued Suziky, all falls down and we need to restart, which will probably never happen. The officers would have a closer eye on us.
- So we need to be quiet and fast. And the wall is our only way to escape.
- You finished the rope, right? asked Suziky, almost whispering.
- Yea, it's hidden between the bricks of the back wall of my cell, explained Alan as an answer. But there is a poster above it so no one noticed a thing.
- Brilliant! Nice one.
- It was nothing, miss, said Alan, faking a bow.
They both laughed and talked a little more about their plan to make sure everything was in place. They decided a date easily and went back in there cells like nothing happened. Later that day, Nathan came to her to speak since he was feeling low. Suziky acted as natural as possible and had to keep a scream of happiness at one time when the police officer let a secret out of his mouth.
They talked for a quick hour and Nathan left her alone, closing all the lights to the way of his desk. The silent took place and Suziky was sitting on her bed, looking at the cracked roof above her. She kept bouncing her legs on the little mattress, passing time and trying to fall asleep.
All the plan was turning in loop in her head. Soon, they would be free. Soon enough, Suziky would be able to do whatever she wants with Alan. and nobody would stop them. A smile lighted her face and she turned around in her white sheets. She blinked one, two, three times then everything went black as she was falling into a deep and long sleep.
