As Perrie, Alex and I head to the venue I am lost for words in the back seat. Playing with the rings on my fingers. I can't believe I'm pregnant. Who am I kidding, I don't know how to take care of myself let alone a kid.
"Shaima calm down I can feel your anxiety from up here" Perrie laughs and I groan
"I'm nervous, how am I suppose to tell him! This is seriously bugging me" I whine
"It's Trent, he already started talking about having kids with you, Shaima things always work out in the end you just have to let fate run it's course" Alex tries to reassure me and I stare at him in shock
"Since when did you become so good with words" I laugh which makes us all burst into laughter
"Hey leave me alone, I'm wise when I want to be okay" he laughs I smile as he pulls into the parking spot. "You ready?"
"Not one bit but I'll get through the night" I sigh and open my door. The 3 of us head into the venue and is greeted immediately but Gini and Virgil. We all make our way into the hall and I'm amazed by the decorations and floor plan of the room. It was absolutely stunning. As the 5 of us were in a conversation I feel someone's arm wrap around my waist and I realized who it can only be. I look up to see Trent smiling down at me. "Hey" I smiled
"You look absolutely stunning Shaima, I'm glad you're here" he kisses my temple and pulls me into his side a little more. As he does I do get a little tensed under his touch as I first haven't really forgiven him yet and second because I was keeping such a big thing from him.
"Shaima you okay?" Virgil asks from across the group. I nod my head yes and give him a warm smile.
We all took our seats at the designated tables assigned. There was about 15- 20 tables around for the team plus their families/loved ones. The evening had been going so far so good. Though I haven't really spoken to Trent for the most part. It had just been Perrie and I keeping eachother occupied with the occasional Rebecca.
"You're the best I hope you know that" I say to Perrie which causes her to smile
"I'm always here for you Shay whether you want it or not" she laughs "are you gonna drop it tonight?" She asks
I shake my head "no, I can't not when things are still on bad terms." I sip my iced tea and sigh "I just want him to trust me and it sucks that he doesn't"
"He's insecure Shay, all guys have it. They just hate to show it."
"He shouldn't be afraid to show it though especially when it comes to me, we've been through a lot of shit together and the fact that one thing is still able to break us like it has hurts."
Before Perrie could answer we heard someone hitting a glass cup from where the stage had been placed. Andy stood up nice and high so that everyone can see him with his famous smile plastered on his face.
"Hi everyone! Thanks for coming tonight I know that last 2 weeks have been utterly insane and I can't wait to see what 2021 has to bring for not only for my family but for this team as well. But there is someone here that wants to say something to his special someone so Trent, the floor is all yours." Andy pointed to the open mic and Trent started walking up to it.
"Um hey guys I know I was probably the last person that you expected up here but I needed to do this so I guess here it goes. Shaima, I know I've been a shit boyfriend, a shit best friend, and I'm so sorry for that. I just had felt that I might have been losing you all over again and after 2 years of not having you here really bugged me. Shaima, from everyone around us they all say the same thing. She chose you, everyone knew that you were meant to be together since the beginning. That you coming back to me would mean forever. And well, I think they're right about it cause Shaima Adsuar I am head over heals for you. The day I met you was the day I knew I would be in your life forever. If that was only being best friends or lovers. Thank god I can be able to call you mine. I'm sorry for what I had said to you cause honestly and I know you hate this excuse but it was a heat of the moment kind of situation and I regret every moment of it. My mum made me realize that maybe this was meant to be more than it already is which brings me here now." He walks up to me and goes on one knee "before you say anything this is not an engagement ring but a promise ring. It's a promise that I will never doubt you ever again. That I will love you and work things out now matter how hard the situation is. It's also a promise that one day in the future I will put another ring on your finger and call you Ms Alexander Arnold. I love you Shaima and I couldn't imagine spending my life with anyone else."
I smile down at him and place my hand on his face to wipe a tear that had fallen from his eyes. "I love you too" I say softly which makes him smile wide and pick me up from my seat. Immediately I feel his lips on mine and I couldn't help but kiss back. Everyone around us had been cheering and I smiled as he twirled me around. Trent set me to my feet and put the ring on my finger. All of the sudden chants had filled the room.
"5,4,3,2,1 HAPPY NEW YEARS!" Everyone yelled and confetti filled the air.
"Happy New Years baby" Trent looks down at me.
"Happy New Years my love" I smile and lean in for the kiss. As we pull apart I smile up at him and before I knew it I was swept off my feet by Alex.
"Happy New Years Shay Shay!" He laughs as he also twirls me around
"Happy New Years Alex" I laugh and give him a proper hug.
"Did you tell him?" He whispers in my ear
"Not yet, I'm not ready yet" I let him know and he nods and heads over to Trent. Perrie makes her way over to me and I smile wide "HAPPY NEW YEARS LOVER"
"HAPPY NEW YEARS BABY!!" We hug and start laughing. "So did you?"
"No, I'm not sure yet cause there still a chance I might lose the baby and I don't want to get his hopes up." I sigh
"No I get that and it's okay, I'm here for you when you are ready" she smiles and pulls me into another hug. The question is when or will I ever be ready.
