CHAPTER 12

"Neji..." Tenten said weakly unconsciously. "It's okay Tenten. I'm here, don't worry." Neji said, placing a kiss on her forehead. He noticed she was wearing a short dress and didn't want her to catch a cold so he placed his jacket on her. "I'll take you to my home tonight since it's safer." Neji said in a whisper while carrying her in the bridal style.

Once he got to his room, he quickly put her on the bed lightly and took off her shoes. He quickly went to go get a hot towel and put it on her forehead. Neji heard the door opening and looked back. It was Hinata who came in quietly with her clothes folded. "Is she okay?" Hinata asked worriedly. "No, her body is overheating." Neji replied. "Go get her a warm towel, I'll help her change." Hinata said quietly. Neji nodded and left.

He quietly knocked before getting in. Tenten was changed, but still unconscious, he put a hot towel on her forehead. "I'll leave you two be now, take good care of her." Hinata yawned. "Goodnight." She left closing the door. 'Oh Tenten... I'm sorry that I failed to protect you. Please forgive me...' Neji sighed. He tucked her into a warm blanket. He took a chair from his table and sat down next to her. Holding onto one of Tenten's hands, his vision started going dark.

The sunlight was shining on Tenten's eyes. 'What time is it?' Tenten thought as she was still sleepy. 'My head hurt ugh.' Tenten was about to put one of her hands on her head but she was holding onto something. When she opened her eyes it was Neji. 'Why am I here? What happened yesterday night, why can't I remember?' Tenten was trying hard to remember but it seemed to make her headache even worse. Tenten couldn't help but stare at Neji. He has such a fine face structure. It was perfect and handsome, sometimes she can't even help but fangirl over him. 'He's perfect, and now we're dating. Wait... then I went with Kaiya then she... I can't recall it. '

Tenten noticed Neji was going to wake up and quickly pretended to sleep. "Good morning Tenten, how are you feeling?" Neji asked in a husky voice after just waking up. 'He slept in a chair the whole time, he must've been tired from taking care of me.' Tenten pondered forgetting about Neji. She got snapped out of it when Neji put a hand to her forehead to feel her temperature. "I'm fine thank you for your care. I'll get out of the bed, you can lay down, you must've been tired of taking care of me the whole night Neji. I'm sorry about that." Tenten got up but got put back down. "It's fine, I don't mind." Neji responded. "I'll go make you congee, stay here and rest." Neji said as he got up. His hair was still neat and in place like always. "Thank you Neji." Tenten said, giving him a kiss on the cheek. His face went flushed but he quickly covered it.

Hinata knocked right before coming in. "Morning Tenten, how are you feeling?" Hinata asked as she sat down. "Better, thanks. Speaking of which, what happened last night?" Tenten questioned Hinata. "Kaiya spiked your drink. Luckily Neji was there in time to stop that from happening." Hinata replied. "That little skunk." Tenten cursed at her angrily. "Calm down Tenten, we'll figure out a way to get our revenge." Hinata said. "Thanks, anyway where's Hanabi? I haven't seen her for a while." Tenten asked. "She went on a mission, so she's out of the village right now. She'll come back soon." Hinata responded.

Tenten then saw Neji coming back holding a bowl of congee. The smell made Tenten's stomach growled. "Wow Neji, I didn't know you could make amazing food as well, you're perfect in everything thank you." Tenten praised gleefully. "I'll get going now, I have to... I have to go to practice! Bye you two." Hinata quickly left. "If you like, I can make you food everyday." Neji stated. Tenten felt butterflies in her stomach. 'That would be amazing, if we ever get married, I would get to taste the food you make me everyday... No, what am I thinking'. Tenten blushed thinking about it. "What are you thinking about?" Neji asked curiously. "I was just thinking about how I would get to taste the food that you make me, if we ever get married." Tenten stated absentmindedly. Realizing what she just said her face went red as a tomato, Neji's face also went slightly pink. "Did I just say that out loud." Tenten asked quietly. "Yea-" "That was embarrassing." Tenten groaned and covered her face with her hands. "Don't be embarrassed about it, I'll gladly make you food everyday when we get married in the future." Neji moved her hands away from her face. "Oh Neji, it's such a dream come true that we're now dating. It's wonderful." Tenten hugged him happily. Neji hugged her back, "I'm glad as well. Now eat up before the food goes cold."

"Are you sure you want to go to practice today?" Neji asked while walking with her to the training spot. "Yes I'm 100% sure, I've rested enough." Tenten sighed. They saw Lee already there training, while Kaiya was sitting on the ground fixing her nails like nothing had happened yesterday. It angered Tenten, and she wanted to beat the living life out of Kaiya. Neji squeezed Tenten's hand. Tenten looked at Neji and smiled at him. "Morning Lee!" Tenten yelled out early in the morning. "GOOD MORNING NEJI AND TENTEN! ARE YOU READY FOR TODAY'S YOUTHFUL PRACTICE!?" Lee said all energetically. "Oh Lee, you're already so energetic.' Tenten sighed. "Are you okay Tenten? I heard about yesterday night's incident. Lee walked over. "Yea I'm fine thanks for your concern." Tenten reassured him.

"Hello? I'm here." Kaiya said. "You're really something." Tenten scoffed. "Excuse me?" Kaiya looked at Tenten. "Did I say anything wrong?" Tenten asked, looking at her annoyed. "I'm done trying to be nice to you." Kaiya rolled her eyes at Tenten annoyed. "Yea keep rolling your eyes maybe you'll find a brain back there." Tenten snapped. "What did you just say?" Kaiya angrily got up, and started walking towards her. Neji stepped in front of Tenten. "She said nothing wrong, and it's better to let someone think you're an idiot than to open your mouth to prove it." Neji stated calmly as always.
"Neji-Kun how could you... I thought you love me?" Kaiya started weeping.

"Oh puh-lease, Neji and I are dating. He never said that he loved you. I know your dirty little trick. You made someone pretend to be Neji, and cause a misunderstanding, but the plan failed... Kaiya, I know you're crazy for love but this isn't the right way. You'll find your soulmate eventually, but just not right now." Tenten added. "I guess so..." Kaiya sniffed. "Never thought an enemy would be comforting me." Kaiya chuckled. "Well... T-thank you and I'm really really sorry for everything that I caused. One of my friends and I'll be leaving in a month or so and have to go back to my village. This was a great lesson that I had learned. Thank you." Kaiya bowed. "You're welcome, I wish you success in finding your soulmate." Tenten smiled.
