THE HUNT

Chapter 8

Devin 

It had been over a week since I had seen him and reports of him had stopped coming in. I pushed my guys and bigshots I knew who were only famous because of me. This included the corrupt officials. I had their dirty little secrets that could ruin them forever. They knew as long as they complied, there would be no trouble. People thought they ran the city.

 "Hell No!"

I called the shots. They not only had to pay for privacy but also protection.

 "Nothing, and I mean nothing ran in this city without me knowing about it.", simple as that. 

I was listening to some classical music in my office when Jake told me that he had nothing to report on the Agent. Maybe he left town.

I was thinking two things:

Since he is a secret agent why not hunt him down before he gets me?

I can either wait for his mistake or hunt him and whoever he is with down.

I received a text from Barry saying they found his car abandoned. 

I replied, “Do you guys think or what? Search it!” 

Team 

We decided to go ‘fishing’ and let them use Raheem's car as a bait. We would let them relax then block their communications by radio jamming. 

They arrived as expected with guns out and searched every corner of the street. They couldn’t spot us as we were well hidden to ‘watch the show’.

They grabbed a guy in the wrong place at the wrong time and roughed him up but he still wasn't talking. They were going to shoot so Frank shot first, then we jammed their signals. 

Having realised that their devices were useless, they got back into their vehicles and left. We let them go for now. 

They thought they were at an advantage. Yeah, this was their turf but we weren't scared. We had just sent a clear message to DOC. Ready or not, here we come.

We decided to pack up. We had two choices: leave or do some recon. 

We checked on the guy who thanked us for saving his life. He continued, “I have information regarding DOC. And you need to hear it if you want to pull him down.”

The guy whose name was Jimmy said he was a business owner and told us how DOC’s reign of terror started. He warned us that anyone brave enough to stand up had disappeared. It was clear that the politicians and other big people answered to DOC. 

He cautioned that Devin would most likely retaliate by sending a crew of some of his elite guys after us.

Jimmy asked us to call him whenever in need of any favour.. 

We decided that we were going to drop him somewhere safe out of town. 

After making sure Frank got on the next plane out of town we headed to the headquarters after making sure we were not followed.
