Michael's house was big. Big enough for a family of seven. Turns out he's an only child and lives with his parents. The door itself was quite fancy. The walls were white and decorated by paintings, beautiful paintings. There was one peculiar painting that i was drawn to. It was like a huge whale and a small boat just above the whale. I don't know why but it was actually fascinating. The other one that caught my attention was a woman in a forest and the shadow of a person far away looking at her.I was paying so much attention to the paintings that I knocked out a vase that looked expensive as hell.
"Shit." I said while catching the vase just in time. I let out a sigh from relief.
"Dude if you break something my mother will kill you." He turned around to look at me with a serious way then made his way to the kitchen.
"Sorry I'm a bit clumsy." I followed him to the kitchen and saw he was grabbing some snacks from the cabinet. Good because i haven't eaten in 12 hours.
Once he grabbed as much snacks as he could, he told me to follow him upstairs and i did. We entered the second door on the left which was his room. A white room with a few posters of awesome bands. Pretty simple but quite cool.
"You want some?" He spoke with his mouth full and gave me the bag full of cheetos before i could answer.
"Nice room." I said looking around.
"Are you being sarcastic?"
"No"
"Then thanks." He smiled like he was proud of himself or something.
I feel kinda weird here. I don't know much about Michael and neither does him about me.
"Lets skip the awkward part and let's talk about your silly crush on that Charlotte girl."
"It's not a silly crush." Or was it?
Michael looked at me with serious eye and i couldn't help but be intimidated by him.
"It's not a silly crush." I repeated. "She's just pretty."
The first time i saw her was the day of my graduation. I was in the car heading to the ceremony and when i looked outside i saw a girl, Charlotte, walking down the street with a book in her hand. The day after i walked through the same street and saw her in the park sitting on a bench. That's when i started to go almost everyday just to see her read. It's been a year and I'm embarrassed because i feel like a stalker.
"Right, right." He said while crossing his arms. "What you need to do is talk to her and find things in common."
He's right. In order to become friends we need to get to know each other first. And if i get stuck in the friendzone then i'm fucked.
"What should i say to her?"
"Oh God you're just a child." He rolled his eyes and I felt ashamed that i didn't know how to talk to a girl.
We kept talking for a whole hour about my plan to talk to Charlotte and it was a pretty good one.
Tomorrow I will go to the park and make the first step.
