Y/N watched from the comfort of her bed as everyone scrambled about in Destiny's Bounty. A coy smile rested on her l/c lips, her eyes fluttering like the wings of a butterfly as she heard the ninja yell and run around.

She was used to the chaos—every last bit of it—and quite actually enjoyed it when she wasn't partaking in it. Y/N was the outsider looking in this particular moment, and couldn't have felt more amused and at peace.

"Y/N?" It was Kai, peeking his head so suddenly into her shared room with Nya. He plastered his coquettish grin at the sight of her, just sitting there with a smirk. "Are you absolutely sure you don't wanna come see the new Mega Shark movie with us? We're just about to leave."

"Like I said for the billionth time, no thank you!" Y/N exclaimed, accompanied with a hearty chuckle. "I saw it last week. And I'm about to spoil it if you don't get the hell outta my room, Kai!"

Kai shook his head playfully, blowing a raspberry shortly after. "Geez, fine! I'll let you daydream and simp over Cole then."

Y/N instinctively grabbed one of her pillows and chucked it at the red ninja. His laugh echoed through the room as he shut the door, right on time. The pillow hit the door and landed softly on the ground as a result.

But he was right. Y/N would take advantage of the vacancy in the Bounty and would daydream all about the black ninja.

Cole.

His name alone made Y/N shudder with delight and infatuation; if there was one thing that Cole Brookstone was, well, it's that he was an absolute dream. The thought of him rattled Y/N's heart with what she only imagined could be love.

She had also been right. In truth, she had gone to see the new Mega Shark movie last week. And she gone to see it with Cole.

You see, the relationship that Y/N and Cole had was pretty difficult to decipher. If one were to look from a bystander perspective, anyone would be quick to assume that the two ninja were dating. They were playful with one another; they often engaged in a buoyant argument about superior cake flavors, or planning away at the next prank they wanted the others to fall in. They were each other's rock, finding comfort in each other whenever they were out together or with the team.

However, some of the ninja living with them in the Bounty knew that it was pretty much very one sided.

Almost everyone knew—including Sensei Wu—that Y/N liked Cole. Some suspected it more than others, of course, but the idea was there. She behaved the same way she would with him regardless, but it was the dreamy gleam in her eye that gave her away.

Every. Single. Time.

Cole, on the other hand, was oblivious to it all. The whispers, the words of encouragement, the sentimental glow in Y/N's heart whenever they were together. He was currently on the market for a girlfriend. One would think that he would turn to his best female friend for the task, but with the not so much help of his male best friend, Jay, he resided to online dating.

And that's what he was doing. Finally going on a date with some girl he met on a dating app.

It was making Y/N silently panic on the inside.

"Bye Y/N!!!" Jay's shrilling voice pierced through Y/N's ears, startling her from her thoughts. She blinked multiple times to snap out of her temporary trance.

Footsteps belonging to Kai, Zane, Nya, and Jay erased themselves, leaving Y/N all alone in the Bounty at last. She sighed, feeling the loneliness creeping in.
