Now 12:30, we manage to make and eat the pasta salad without having to speak to Viola. She has disappeared somewhere upstairs, to clean around I presume. With my belly full, I now want to do something fun. Although, I doubt Tom would let me. He was currently in a meeting with Harrison and the rest of the men, and me being nosy, I can't help but eaves drop outside the office door. I position myself so I can hear what they are saying.

H: I just don't understand why he has picked Paris out of everywhere to let Y/N settle down. I mean, most of the groups that are after her are here.

J: I thought he said she was safe here though? And why are they after her anyway?

T: You know why.

J: I get that she is worth millions, but, that's not the only reason why Marco wants her.

Marco? I've heard that name before. But... surely it can't be the same person I'm thinking of. Can it?

T: I'm... We're going to make sure that he doesn't find her. Mr Sharpe has chosen Paris because yes, there are groups here, but we also have a group about 20 minutes from here that are tracking any unusual movement.

H: Yes, exactly. But Tom, I hate to say it but... Marco won't stop until he gets what he wants and you know it. I mean, he's crazy.

J: You're damn right he is. He wouldn't have used to spy on her if he wasn't.

WHAT?! What is going on?! Spy on me? When? Why don't I know about this?

T: We don't need to bring that up. It happened and we sorted it, end of. Marco is definitely planning an attack. We just need to be ready.

I start to hear movement behind the door so I quickly run into the lounge and jump onto the sofa. Footsteps start to approach me and my heart suddenly feels like it is going to beat out of my chest. I have tears forming in my eyes but I choke down my nervous feelings and try to act normal as Tom stands in front of me.

T: Where you, where you by the door a minute ago?

Y: Maybe.

T: Y/N... What did you hear?

Y: You tell me. What the hell is going on.

T: You shouldn't have been listening.

Y: Why? Is it not my place to know who is planning on kidnapping me?

T: Fuck's sake. Y/N.

Y: Don't 'Y/N' me. Why would you keep something like this from me? And what does Marco want with me? I know who he is... he used to work for my dad didn't he? He had a thing for me but I didn't like him and that drove him mad, clearly too mad. I thought my dad killed him. Clearly not.

T: No, he got away. I'm so sorry. We are going to protect you though I promise.

Y: Don't make promises to me. Not if you can't keep them. Is this what you couldn't tell me?

T: Yes... I want to kill Marco before I take you away from all of this. I need to know he is dead before I can ensure your safety. And... There is another reason why I want him dead.

Y: What is it?

T: Marco killed my parents.

My heart drops. I suddenly don't even care about my own feelings anymore. All my attention is now on Tom, he sits down next to me on the arm of the sofa and plays with his hands, his jaw tensing. I can tell he is full of fire and vengeance.

Y: Tom I... I am so sorry. How did he find you on that mission?

Shit... I forgot I wasn't meant to say anything. Tom shoots me a confused look with anger in his eyes.

T: How do you know it was on a mission? Who told you?

Y: I... er. I wasn't supposed to say anything I'm sorry.

T: It was Harrison, wasn't it? Fuck! What else did he tell you?

He was now standing, his eyes never leaving mine.

Y: I was asking questions and I... I just wanted to know more about you.

T: It's not your place to go snooping into my past! If I wanted to tell you I would!

Y: I'm sorry! I didn't think it was a bad thing okay! I mean, you don't ever open up to me anyway! How else am I mean to know anything about you Tom?

T: This is why I don't trust anyone! Because you've gone behind my back to ask about my family when it's none of your business! Why the hell do you want to know anyway?

Y: Tom, I'm sorry I... I didn't know it would make you this upset. I shouldn't have asked.

T: No! You're damn right you shouldn't have! Is this what you do when you're bored? Snoop into other peoples lives and throw pity parties for them? Well, princess, it isn't like you're perfect either!

I sit, shocked and tearful as he stands in front of me, shouting with piercing eyes making him look almost, scary. I crumble beneath his angry frame hovering over me and his words pierce through me like pins to the skin. I say nothing to his last remark, instead, I just sniffle like a child and look up at him with watery eyes.

I suddenly stand, fed up at being shouted at, and walk out of the room, barging past him. I step into the hallway and jolt as I hear Tom smash a glass in the lounge, cursing as he does so.

H: What's going on?

Harrison runs over, obviously overhearing the chaos irrupting between me and Tom. I don't answer him, words still not able to form in my throat. Instead, I point to the lounge, run outside and head for the stables. I need to get away.

Speedily, I tack Max up and throw on my riding clothes. I hop on and canter out of the stables, tears running down my face. I don't know where I'm going, but I don't care. We approach a gate at the end of the field, but we don't slow down, instead, I kick Max on and we clear the gate easily. It felt good, the adrenaline coursing through me like blood pumping through my veins. We approach another gate, this one a bit higher and yet again, I kick on. This time we clear the gate, but Max gets a bit too exited and bucks me off, sending me flying into a bush.

Y: SHIT! Jesus Max!

I throw my hat onto the floor with force and huddle myself into a ball. Max walks towards me, nudging my head with his nose. I sniffle to myself as I look up at him and give him a stroke, I can't stay mad at him for long. I stand up and wince as I step onto my right foot.

Y: Fuck, I think I've sprained my ankle Max.

He snorts in reply as if to say sorry. I grab my hat from the floor and lean on Maximus as I try and get back on. I eventually manage to swing myself up and I kick him on to walk around for a bit longer, I don't want to go back yet. Or at all for the matter. I find myself in a field of gorgeously purple lavender, the scent calming me slightly. I trot Max towards a lake nearby so he can have a drink before I eventually decide to head back to the house.
