Lilianna's POV:
I sat in my room, waiting for Isabella to come back from work.
My phone began ringing and I immediately recognized the number.
Jake.
I picked it up, a smile on my face.
"Hello?" I questioned.
"Sup Miller," His sweet voice spoke.
"Need something?" I asked, not ever wanting this conversation to end.
"Yes. I'm bored," He responded.
"And?" I fiddled with my shirt, a sign of nervousness.
"We're going on a walk. I'll meet you outside your house in 10 minutes," He replied.
"You're forcing me to go on a walk with you?" I let go of my shirt.
"Yes. Outside your house in 10 minutes," He ordered. He hung up, leaving me confused.
I got up and walked out of my room. I passed Elijah who was working out in his room.
"Where ya goin'?" He asked, in the middle of push ups.
"On a walk with a friend," I waved to him as I walked down the stairs. I left the house and a familiar pair of brown eyes caught mine.
"Miller," He grabbed my hand and softly kissed it as I joked. I pulled it away from him and chuckled. We walked down the street, talking about random stuff. Just as we reached 82 Ave, he took off his hoodie and slipped it on me.
"What?" I raised a brow.
"Friendly gesture, isn't it?" He smirked.
He leaned in and pecked my lips. It was a gentle kiss, the kind you imagine your first kiss on the front porch to be, the kind to put butterflies to your stomach, the kind to bring tingles to your toes.
As his lips brushed against mine, I was spellbound. I could taste the mint in his breath. I could sense his hesitance and desire. All in that split second.
I didn't know a kiss was so innocent, could feel so intimate at the same time.
As I pulled away, I stared into his eyes, mesmerized.
"You're a good kisser," He joked.
"Not so bad yourself," I joked back. He snaked his arm around my waist and walked me down the street.
As we were walking, I heard my phone ring. I slipped it out of my pocket and answered the call.
"Hello?" I questioned.
"Lil?" Megan's voice was soft, meaning she was sad and that something happened.
"Meg? What's wrong?" I heard a sniffle from the other line.
"I just-I just got a call telling me tha-that Delilah was found in the woods, dead." She responded.
It took me a few seconds to process what she had just said.
Delilah Jamiola. One of my best friends. dead. In the woods.
"What?" My voice cracked as I was close to tears.
"They found her today. And she was dangerously wounded in her chest with a throwing knife piercing through it," Megan sniffled again, tears most likely dripping down her face.
I dropped my phone to the ground, not caring about the world around me. I fell onto my knees, breaking down into tears.
Jake rushed to my side, both his arms around me.
