The Day Of The Dance
Stacy's POV:
I walked into the gym and found it fully decorated. Different colours of leaves all around the walls and floor, orange and red balloons surrounding the corners, and a giant flower bouquet sat in the middle of the gym.
I clutched onto my date, Max's arm as we walked in.
"I'm going to find Lilly," I let go of him and walked over to Lilly who was at the punch bowl, sipping away. "Hey Lil."
"Hey, cute dress," She motioned to my black gown.
"You too," Her dress was a formal hot pink that reached her toes. She was wearing heels to try and gain height but the dress was still a bit long. "Where's your date?"
"Don't have one," She shrugged.
"Jake didn't ask you?" I questioned.
"He asked Heather. And that too, in front of most of the school," Lilly sighed.
"Aww. I'm sorry, Lil," I softly smiled.
"Not your fault," She smiled back, before walking away. I walked back towards Max and began dancing with him.
Max had asked me after school through a gorgeous proposal with his friends--The Jocks--as backup dancers. He sang a soft song to me, requesting me to go with him.
"Oh oh, Stacy, Stacy. Can you be my acey, acey? Throw it up and make it spacy, spacy. Can you come with me so I can gesture to you throughout the night?" He sang with a smile on his face. He held out the corsage and motioned to me.
"Yes," I smiled.
And now, here I was, standing with him in the gym, swaying to the soft song that played through the speaker.
I rested my hands on his shoulders as his went to my waist. We chatted throughout the night, soft talk here and there, and a few refreshment breaks. I turned around and found Heather being all flirty with Jake.
Seeing him with her made me frustrated for some reason.
Maybe it was because of Lilly or just in general, I hate Heather. She's always been annoying, trying to add herself into every conversation.
My night ended off with Max driving me home, dropping me off at the doorstep.
