Ever since Wendy had opened up about her past to Irene, she had been more comfortable in all aspects. Irene too, felt that Wendy has been happy around her. She was glad that the younger girl was back to her cheerful but honest self.

Today Wendy was alone at home as Joy and Seulgi had gone to meet Seulgi's parents in another town. One thing which freaked her out was being alone at home, and that too, such a huge one.

She got inside her blanket and took out her phone, dialling her girlfriend's number. As it was almost midnight, Irene picked up the call after just a few rings.

"Hey," Irene said in an enthusiastic tone.

"Unnie," Wendy called out in a soft whisper.

"What's up?," Irene asked, a little attentive then before.

"Can you come over? I don't want to be alone...," Wendy asked, sitting up on the bed.

"Alone? Why?," Irene asked.

"Joy and Seulgi will come back day after tomorrow..," Wendy answered.

"Oh.. so.. you're scared?," Irene asked, almost teasingly.

Wendy who felt heat rising in her face shook her head.

"Of course not!," Wendy loudly answered in embarrassment.

"Then I think you'll be fine Wannie," Irene said as she yawned a little.

Wendy who was pouting now frowned in annoyance. She didn't like when Irene played with her like this.

"Unnie," Wendy called out again.

"What now?," Irene asked casually.

"Oh.. Seungwan have you checked your room properly? I think I heard something from the call," Irene immediately said.

Wendy looked at her phone which was on speaker and then got her attention to her closed room. She felt her heart beating faster and in her head on the thought.

"I heard it again! What is it?," Irene asked once again, clearly joking, but her tone as serious as ever.

"Unnie.. w-what are you saying..?," Wendy asked in a shaky voice as she got off her bed with her phone in hand.

"It sounds like... whispering? Are you whispering Seungwannie?," Irene asked critically.

"N-No.. I'm not..," Wendy answered in a mumble as she opened her bedroom door.

"It's weird.. I can now hear some thuds too," Irene casually added.

Wendy who walked out in the dark hall squinted her eyes to focus more. When she saw a faint light at the end of the long hall, she took small steps towards it.

"What are you doing?," Irene asked after a few moments of silence.

Wendy who was shaking from fear removed the speaker from the call and held it to her ear.

"I-I'm checking.. the house.. I-I can hear something too..," Wendy answered in a gulp.

"What can you hear?," Irene asked, thinking that Wendy had caught on her joke.

"L-Light..," Wendy said as she brought her hand to the handle of the unused store room.

"Light?," Irene asked, confused as to what was happening.

When Wendy opened the door, a loud creaking sound came as something fell over her shoulder from above.

"AHHH!!," Wendy shouted in terror when she felt something on her shoulder and dropped the phone in the room.
