Similar to the Eater of Worlds, Gabriel was quietly confident. But then after being chastised by Andrew to no end, he decided that he'd make an arena.
He ran down into the jungle, which honestly terrified him. Lots of powerful enemies reside in the jungle in Hardmode, especially underground. There were tortoises that could one-shot him, creepy spiders that could suck his internal organs and ingest them, and Derplings who constantly tried to jump on top of him and touch him inappropriately.
But despite that, he made it into the beehive, where he would fight the Queen Bee.
Like many bosses, Queen Bee had multiple ways to be summoned. Either you work your tail off to make an Abeemination, or you pray to the RNG gods that you find a beehive, where the larva is. Breaking the larva will summon the crazy bee, but you best be careful; if you accidentally break the larva, you're in for a total a-bee-mination.
Luckily, he found a hive not far from the surface of the jungle. He now had access to honey, which was a pretty nice addition to any arena considering the health regen properties.
"ALRIGHT!" Gabriel yelled, putting on a ski mask. "PUT THE HONEY IN THE BAG!"
I never had a huge connection to Gabriel, but now he was starting to grow on me.
He placed platforms throughout the hive and stabbed the larva.
Queen Bee was trying its best to be ferocious, but Gabriel exterminated it with his yoyo.
"Queen Bee? More like Queen B-list!" Gabriel gloated when the giant bee fell.
Now was where things got interesting.
Because Gabriel killed Queen Bee, the Witch Doctor could move in. And because he was technically in hardmode, he could sell Leaf Wings, which would be great to have, despite costing a FULL PLATINUM COIN.
Gabriel scrambled about everywhere to find every penny he could get his hands on, and trying not to die and lose it all.
After working as hard as he could killing mobs and selling random junk, he finally got a platinum coin. He was rich, and he was gonna spend it all on Leaf Wings.
Once the Witch Doctor arrived, Gabriel ran into his house in the jungle at the dead of the night.
"Hello...Mr...Witch Doctor sir. Can I buy your wings?" Gabriel asked.
"Ah yes," he responded. "These leaves are made from nature, and nature is made from these leaves."
"And the floor is made of floor," Gabriel responded, grabbing his wings and flying away.
This would be a game-changer. Next up on the boss massacre list was Skeletron, part of Cthulu's skeleton that cursed the dungeon, and the Old Man who hangs out outside. Once Skeletron was down, not only would Gabriel have access to the Dungeon, but he'd be on the road to the Wall of Flesh.
Things might have just started turning around for Gabriel
