Now, before I get into the story, I must give a bit of background.

What's that? Who am I? Why, sometimes I don't even know myself. However, in the instance of this story, I shall tell you.

My name is Steve. At one point, I was champion of a great world that everyone knows as Terraria.

Terraria is a troubled world in desperate need of a hero. How fortunate that Terraria had a hero such as myself to help it.

However, my journey's end came a long time ago. In the Great War of Cthulu, we all needed to push back the forces of Cthulu, a godlike sea monster bent on destroying everything in its path.

No matter the gear used or person pitted against Cthulu, it always ended in futility. Even with my armor made of pure darkness and my Hero Sword, I still fell to the beast.

So where am I now?

I'm everywhere, but also nowhere. A ghost.

I had to watch Cthulu rip this world I cared about to shreds, and never was he truly defeated.

However, our saving grace was the Dryads.

The Dryads are a powerful race of creatures that resemble humans. They have a connection with nature and can manipulate it to their needs. Millions of Dryads walked Terraria at one point. I  could even say I flirted with one or two of them.

However, even millions of powerful nature creatures with an unparalleled connection to this world couldn't fully kill Cthulu. However, they were able to cripple it by dismembering its different limbs. Its eyes which became omnipresent watchers, its brain which was the guardian of a gruesome cancerous land called the Crimson, and parts of its skeleton which set about to corrupt and curse anything in its sight. After losing these, Cthulu knew it was weakened and retreated to the moon to bide time until its return.

Unfortunately, the battle was costly, and now rather than millions of Dryads walking Terrraia, only one remained. A female Dryad named Ariella, who lost herself deep into the jungle lost for many years.

As time flowed for hundreds of years, many people have tried and failed to complete the task at

hand of finishing the job. Even as the years progressed and new weapons were forged, only Cthulu's brain and one of his eyes were eradicated. This was a sad performance.

With time, lunar devotees and Cthulu worshipers formulated a way to revive Cthulu to be

brought upon this world again. With the help of a cursed old tailor and a captured mechanic, Cthulu would be mechanically rebuilt. This troubled world, and no one up to the task to save it. What would happen?

That's where Abilitopia comes into play.

Abilitopia is a world much different than Terraria. It's a world with a society of heroes and villains who all fight for dominion over the multiverse. The more worlds captured, the more advantage a side would have. And so one of the top villain officials, the powerful psychic Jesse, had the idea of taking over Terraria. I laughed at this idea, as these humans could hardly even defeat Cthulu's eye. However, as the years passed, bigger and better weapons were discovered and things had changed drastically, so it was hard to tell. Surprisingly, despite not being able to defeat Cthulu's organs, she was able to defeat the guardian of the world, the Wall of Flesh, releasing the ancient spirits of light and dark that were kept sealed away. However, she wasn't prepared to fight the powerful beasts released and ended up stuck in the world mortally wounded. She wrote a note at the world's origin to any that may attempt entry. Lucky for her,

Gabriel cared enough about her to help.

Gabriel was a top operator for the heroes. He's 80% human and 20% fox for unknown reasons and possesses the power of fire.

Gabriel and Jesse knew each other from the beginning. Ever since elementary school, they had been best friends, despite them fighting for different sides. He entered the world primarily as a reconnaissance mission to see if Jesse had died. Little did they know it was almost impossible to exit the world of Terraria.

When Gabriel was thrown into the world, the first things he saw were a ginger-haired Guide, a winter wonderland, and a box with a note on it.

The note read:

To whom it may concern, I need your help.

I have tried and failed to take this land and bring prosperity and control to it.

However, when attempting to do so, I released the ancient spirits of light and dark contained within the world's guardian, setting the world to an irreversible state known as Hardmode.

I am not strong enough to stop this, but you are.

From the world's guardian, I was able to scrape together some items: a holy hammer, a laser gun, and some healing potions.

It's your time now. The world has brought you to this specific location at this specific time.

Will you stand up and fight for Terraria against the growing shadows of impending doom?

I sure hope so.

~Jesse Kada-bruh

Gabe picked up the hammer and holstered the gun. He felt the cool, hallowed metal handle and looked at the Guide sitting in the snow. He knew he was getting into something bigger than himself.

Gabe's Hardmode Quest had just begun.
