Chapter 1: The Pharktom

PART I

Sometimes, people forget that decisions were always with us every second of our day because we only remember the big ones.

We decide what time to wake up. We decide what food to eat. We even decide which part of our body gets wet first when taking a bath. And every decision that we take could bring us different results.

For instance, had Jeongyeon chose to wear her new plain white socks instead of her favorite old Inuyasha-printed one that day... even though she knew that the left sock already had a hole in the heel part, maybe she wouldn't feel uncomfortable during the trip going to school.

She wouldn't have to get off the bus and look somewhere to buy a new pair and be late for her first class. She wouldn't have to get upset, walk in the streets to calm herself down, then see the pretty-looking dress in one of the stores.

She wouldn't have to see its price and realize that she couldn't afford it or anything else she wanted to buy unless she had a job.

If she just chose the friggin white socks that day, she wouldn't be arguing with Jihyo, now that she was already a part of The Bulletproof— one of the school's papers.

Park Jihyo, 19

They were inside their room and Jihyo had her arms crossed while looking down at Jeongyeon who was sitting on the edge of their bed.

Jihyo: Really, Jeongyeon?? You know how evil school papers are.

Jeongyeon: I don't care, I just want money.

Jihyo: Aish. You could've at least chosen The Cypher, at least Taehyung is there. *sits beside Jeongyeon*

Jeongyeon: They're not hiring and I don't want him to see how pathetic I am.
