The Reason I Loathe Him

It came as a surprise after sitting down with Shin Ryujin and telling me that she's Park Jimin's half-sister. My reaction was not because of finding out that he has a sister (wbk tbh) but because all this time, we were told that she's his step-sister.

This may sound like an irrelevant revelation to some but to the 19-year-old girl, being identified as his step-sister for three years only made her lonesome.

Q1. Hi Ryujin! Firstly, I'd like to congratulate you for entering Popcorn, Parkies! July popularity list. Top 10! How do you feel about it?
A1. I was excited at first. But then I've been hearing people saying that I only made it in the list because of Jimin. Because he's famous.

Q2. But, do you really think so?
A2. I hate to think it that way but I think yes. I haven't particularly created noise in the campus, at least not yet. So it made me think why I really made it there. So, it just caused me sadness. I sometimes wish people didn't know we are related at all.

Q3. I guess I understand where you are coming from. Just for the people to know more about you, how's your relationship with your classmates?
A3. It's fine. We're fine.

Q4. I see. By the way, how long have you known Jimin?
A4. More than three years now. I didn't know I have a half-brother and a half-sister.

Q5. What was your reaction when you found out?
A5. I was honestly very enthralled. Who wouldn't be? I was alone for 15 years. For the first time, I'd finally know how it feels to have people who are close to you who you can depend on. Or so I thought.

Q6. Woah, that was a deep breath. What was that? How's your relationship with your siblings?
A6. Rosé and I are fine. Not that close but she at least makes me feel I belong. She recognizes me as her sister. She told me she doesn't like me telling people that we are step-sisters or half-sisters because she just wants to recognize me as her sister per se. I think that's sweet. Jimin, on the other hand, is different.

Q7. Speaking of him, is his collection of Barbie series still intact?
A7. Yes. He'd sometimes put one of them on his bed... beside him... while he sleeps. (laughs)

Q8. He's a child, isn't he? (laughs)
A8. Oh! He stopped wetting the bed when he was 13. But that's not the reason why I loathe him.

Q9. So you really hate him?
A9. Not at first. It just developed. You see, he always made me feel like I don't belong in their family. He's the one who asked me to tell everyone that I'm a step-sister. Seems like he doesn't want everyone to know that he shares blood with me.

Q10. Are you sure about this?
A10. Yes.
