Her Second Marriage or Second Love

Chapter 2

The next morning,  both Madhumita and Nivi went to the hospital to visit the girl. They have collected some money from the orphanage community to pay her bill. 

In the hospital, they met the doctor and asked him about the girl's family, but they felt sad when he told them that nobody came to visit her or made any call. Madhumita asked the doctor about the operation. But he said they will start the operation after the constant letter form is filled up.

Nivi: "Mom I think it's better if you fill those forms, if we make delays and wait for her relatives to come, then she may lose her life. It's ok I have some extra money with me, for now, let's make out with it." Madhumita agreed and nodded yes.

Madhumita: " Ok doctor, tell me where should I sign." The doctor gave her the forms and showed her where to sign.

Doctor: " We will be starting the operation now, please wait here." All the nurses and compounders took her to the operation theater.

Both Nivi and Madhumita were told to wait outside.

Madhumita: " Nivi, I don't know why am I feeling like is familiar, I just met her yesterday and this feeling. Never have I ever felt like this towards somebody before. I have met so many orphan children but she is something different."

Nivi: " Mom, I think it is because of motherly feeling ."

Madhumita: " Yeah, maybe." 

After 6 hours of operation, the girl was shifted to a separate ward. 

The doctor called them inside his cabin for some discussions.

Doctor: " Mam, we have plastered both her legs and head, she is alright now. But there is a problem ."

Madhumita: " What is it, sir?"

Doctor: " Due to heavy injury on the head, the patient is suffering from Amnesia. I don't think she remembered anything. The patient needs to be given special care, she will be getting discharged after 5 days."

Madhumita: " Doctor can we meet her."

Doctor: " Yes sure, she is in the 6th-floor ward, now please excuse me."

Both Nivi and Madhumita went inside to meet her. Heavy machines and wires are connected to her hands, bandages around her head, she was breathing through an oxygen mask, her skin was pale white, and dark circles were around her eyes.  They both felt bad for her. 

Nivi: " Mom, I pity her she looks so innocent."

Madhumita: " Yes, you are right she is."

Nivi: " Mom can we take her with us after her discharge."

Madhumita: " Um, since nobody came for her let's adopt her too."

Madhumita paid her hospital bill and went back to the orphanage. After three days, the girl got back her consciousness, during these days both Nivi and Madhumita took good care of her and also visited her regularly. At first, she was broken and a little uncomfortable with them but slowly she made it. Madhumita treated her as her child and took good care of her. They asked her if she remembered something about herself but in vain she doesn't remember anything except her name. They got her orphanage documents ready and asked if she likes to go with them. She agreed with them as she had no one.

Later on, they got to know from the doctor that she is just 19 years old who didn't even complete her studies, her name was RADHA. They got to know it from the identity card found in her purse. 

She was unable to walk, doctor said that she will be needing at least 6 months to recover till that she needs to use the while chair. It was sad for her but destiny's wish. After a few days, Radha was discharged from the hospital and went with Nivi and Madhumita to the orphanage and the old age home. She got engaged with the other orphan children and people, started living her new life there.
