Approaching the pool table, Adrien glanced at Marinette, who was still dancing along to Kitty Section. He was thankful the band had arranged a set list which only included songs that didn't require the keyboard- meaning Adrien could enjoy his party. As a new song started, Adrien approached the pool table and tuned into Alya and Nino's conversation.

"Hey, no fair!" Alya huffed as Nino sunk the 8-ball.

"I won fair and square!" Nino protested, grabbing Alya's face and planting a kiss on her forehead.

Attempting to hide her grin, Alya turned away and saw Adrien watching them.

"Stalker alert." Alya giggled, crossing her arms and leaning against the pool table to face Adrien.

"Oh, have you seen Marinette?" Adrien asked, stubley pointing her out. Marinette was on the dance floor, her arms in the air above her, and vibing to the music. During one of her "dance moves" , she caught Adrian's eye, and saw Nino and Alya trying to cover their smiles behind him. She huffed and marched off the dance floor, coming to stand in front of Adrien, her cheeks cherry red.

"Ha Ha, very funny Agreste." Marinette snapped, turning aways from Adrien and leaning on the pool table next to Alya.

Adrien grew red with embarrassment.

"You weren't meant to hear that." He said nervously, scratching the back of his neck.

"Figured," Marinette said, rolling her eyes."Hey, where did you go just now? I was looking for you." Marinette asked innocently.

"I uhm- I" Adrien stuttered.

"You sound like 10th grade Dupain-Chang!" Chloe butted in as she strutted past the group of friends.

"She's got a point dude, what made you so nervous?" Nino asked, placing his arm around Alya.

Adrien was dumbstruck. Faced with his best friends and their expectant faces, he couldn't bring himself to mention Kagami. Today was his night after all. So Adrien lied, maybe later he would tell them.

"After uh, after my dance with Marinette it was a bit stuffy so I just got some fresh air out front." He replied.

All three friends gave each other a look before bursting into laughter. Adrien remained silent, his fingers crossed that they wouldn't know he was lying.

"Yeah... that's our cue to leave- enjoy your nightttt." Alya said flirtatiously, causing Marinette to flush a deep ruby red, before heading towards the dance floor with Nino.

"What was that about?" A clueless Adrien asked as he walked towards Marinette.

"Don't act all innocent Kitty, I know what you really did." She replied calmly, grabbing the collar of Adrien's button-down shirt and pulling him down to eye level.

Adrien put his hands on either side of Marinette's body, inching closer to Marinette's face. He played along to see if Marinette knew Kagami had come to see him.

"And what would that be Purr-incess?"

"Well, after our dance you got a little- hmm? Hot? Shall we say..." Marinette whispered as she pushed herself forward, her warm breath tickling his ears and making him shiver. "So you needed to 'get some fresh air'?"

Realising what Marinette was implying, Adrien gulped but remained where he was, trapping Marinette's body against his.

"What're you implying m'lady?"

Marinette simply giggled, dipping under Adrien's arm and making a dash for the door.

Adrien followed close behind, weaving in and out of the crowd. He finally made it to the foyer and hurried up the steps- gaining on Marinette. When he finally reached her, he grabbed her waist and swung her round against the banister. Marinette was pinned again, allowing Adrien to lean in for a kiss. Leaning away from Adrien, Marinette let out another small giggle- unaware of the door to the foyer being opened.

"Don't you want your present?" She asked.

Adrien opted for her neck since she kept avoiding his lips, and in between soft kisses he replied,

"You know you drive me crazy Marinette."

Blushing a deeper red, Marinette let out a giggle and ran her hands through Adrien's golden hair. His kisses deepened and his grip on her waist tightened, before they were both brought out of their daze by a subtle cough from the bottom of the stairs.

Pulling away, but keeping his grip on Marinette, Adrien looked towards the sound and immediately frowned.

"What do you want Lila?" Marinette asked calmly as she linked her fingers on the back of Adrien's neck.

Lila stood by the front door, her arms tightly folded. She gave a fake smile before saying:

"I was on my way out, and just wanted to say thank you, and happy birthday Adrien."

"But you only just got here?" Adrien queried, taking note that it had been merely half an hour since she arrived.

"I know, but it's not very fun when no one will say a word to me. Goodnight." Lila said flatly. She spun around, swiftly opened the door, and left.

Almost immediately, an out of breath Wayhem came crashing through the lounge doors. With a panicked expression on his face, his eyes darted around the foyer until they landed on Adrien and Marinette, who were still in each other's arms.

"It's okay Wayhem, she left." Adrien reassured him before gesturing for him to leave. Without hesitation, the fan turned and dashed back into the lounge, allowing Adrien and Marinette the privacy they longed for.

In one swift movement Adrien lifted Marinette off of the step and flung her small figure over his shoulder. He chuckled to himself as he dashed up the steps, with Marinette squealing in his arms.

"Adriennnnnn! Put me down! ADRIENNN!" She protested, flinging her arms and legs about in an attempt to break free.

"Paris' superhero and you can't even escape the grasp of recently dead, Adrien Agreste?" He teased as he pushed open his bedroom door and lowered Marinette to the ground.

"You can't use the death card anymore Agreste!" Marinette squealed as she fell out of Adrien's grasp.

"Oh but i just did m'lady... what're you going to do about it?" Adrien teased, backing Marinette up against his closed door. As she had done at the pool table, Marinette dipped under Adrien's arm and made a run for his room.

Adrien chased after her around the corner, when confronted with an empty room he grew confused and wandered over to the end of the bed... Out of nowhere Marinette popped up and pushed Adrien onto his back. Propped up on his shoulders, Adrien watched as Marinette climbed on top of him.

"Ready for your present?" She asked innocently, a grin forming on her lips.

With a big grin and a small nod from Adrien, Marinette grabbed a small box from the side of the bed and handed it to Adrien. With Marinette still on his lad, Adrien sat up and began to unwrap the present.

"It's not much, we haven't received our first hero pay check yet so this is all i could afford..."

Inside was a small pin, a blue macaroon.

"You're so cute, it's perfect!" Adrien exclaimed, wrapping his arms around Marinette in a tight embrase. "I love you so much you know that right?" He asked, holding Marinette close.

"I love you too Chaton"
