*Mia's P.O.V*

Esme keeps holding me, running her fingers through my hair as I stayed cuddled up to her. I smile slightly as she soothingly rocks her body slightly. I press into her, Night laying in my arms as I close my eyes. I couldn't really sleep but I liked pretending. Pretending made me feel normal for a little while and I liked that feeling of normalcy.

"Little bat, you fit so perfectly in my arms. It's nice to have someone to hold again," Esme murmurs as I snuggle into her, pressing my face into her shoulder. Esme chuckles, humming slightly as she continues to comb her fingers through my hair.

"You can hold me when I come and visit you and Carlisle," I offer as I shrug my shoulders slightly. Esme hums at that, making me tilt my head up and open my eyes to look at her. She smiles when she sees me looking at her.

"I would prefer if you stayed here little one, I don't like the idea of you being out there all alone," Esme says, a small frown tugging at her lips. I pout at that, not liking it when she frowns at me. Even if it's not directed straight at me, it still makes me pout.

"I nots alone, I see Carlisle sometimes," I argue, making Esme frown even more. It seems like she doesn't like the fact that my only company is Carlisle even though I'm perfectly happy with that! I mean I really only needed to see him every once in a while to keep me happy.

"That's not really a lot of times though is it Mia? Him giving you blood which you need to survive doesn't negate that most of the time you are alone," Esme says softly, pressing a kiss to the back of my hand when I lift it up to play with her hair. I shrug my shoulders, pressing into her with a small pout on my lips.

"You can come visit now too, now that I know you," I offer, making her sigh softly. I can tell she doesn't like my idea but I can't figure out why! I mean I was letting her come visit me and that was a lot on her to have to do. Carlisle already did enough by giving me blood, she shouldn't feel obligated to help me too.

"I would rather you stay here although I can understand why you'd be nervous. I promise that no one here will do you any harm, you're safe here little one," Esme tries to convince me. I shrug my shoulders, whining when she stands up. She doesn't let me go so I'm kind of just dragged to my feet whenever she gets up.

"Come here," Esme says gently, guiding me over the window. I stare at her with confusion as she nods out the window, making me realize there's people outside. I frown, tensing slightly as I press into her as I stare at them quietly.

"So do you know the name of anyone out there?" Esme asks gently. I nod before I even actually look at the people, already knowing the name of one.

"The Jasper," I say, pointing at the short haired blonde man. Esme laughs softly at that, making me look at her.

"Yes, I heard of your run in with Jasper. I am sorry about that, he has a hard time controlling himself still. He's the youngest of our little family at the moment," Esme says, making my brows furrow. What did she mean at the moment? I was curious but I abandoned my questions in order to focus on the other people.

"Who are the rest?" I ask, Esme gently grabbing my hand in her own as she points out the people.

"Rosalie, Emmett, Alice, and Edward," Esme says, pointing at each person as she says their name. I nod my head slowly, trying to memorize each of their names in case I run into them again. I hoped I didn't, they were kind of scary. I watched them quietly, feeling Esme hum softly as she combs through my hair with her fingers.

"I like Rosalie, she smells sweet," I murmur, making Esme hum softly as if in agreement.

"Does she? You know if you wanted to talk to her you could? She really is very sweet most of the time," Esme says gently. I shake my head at the offer, my nose wrinkling up as I look away from the window to look her in the eyes.

"Everyone is nice until they're not. Then they hurt me again and I am all alone and I don't like being alone so I should just not trust anyone ever," I tell Esme, making her frown slightly as she wraps her arms around me.

"I'm sorry darling, you should be able to trust people. I won't ever leave you alone, not if you don't want me to," Esme says as she kisses the top of my head. I freeze at that, staying as still as I can before I slowly lift my head up to look at her.

"Really?" I ask hesitantly, my hand gripping Night tightening slightly as I stare at her hopefully. I really did not want her to betray me too! That would be terrible, especially since she was so nice to me!

"Of course, I'll be around as long as you want me. And even if you don't want me around sometimes I'll be there for you if you need me," Esme offers, making me purse my lips. I hesitantly nod my head, looking down and messing with one of Night's paws. I never know how to respond when people are nice, it's such a weird thing.

"I'd like that. I like you, I think," I murmur, making Esme smile as she lifts my head up.

"Good, I like you too, I think," Esme says, making me smile slightly as her nose crinkles up. I giggle slightly at her using the words I had, not able to stop myself. She was so nice and pretty, I loved when she talked to me. I smile slightly as I look at her, letting her take my hand as I continue to stare out the window and watch the others out there do their own things, like practicing hunting or sparring.
