Happy late birthday to this trash husband 😈
May 14 🎂🎉
Some spoilers for 0 and Majima's past.
Super NSFW down the line, late as usual because I've been working on and off it all weekend. I'll put quite a large cut in between the NSFW parts for those who want to skip it.
I kinda feel like I could have written more for the date, but I was losing interest for this story pretty quickly and there's no point forcing myself.Could be spelling mistakes, tense issues etc because I write at night to calm down enough to sleep and my eyes don't want to work when I'm tired. (sertraline and diamox together makes me so drowsy, but my iih fucks with my vision 😴)
If you see any let me know and I'll change it!
Either way I hope you enjoy and have a good day c: I love you all to bits and thank you so much for getting my reads up on this book! 💕This was quite a sight. His girl in a gorgeous, figure hugging, satin wrap dress. It was above your knees, showing off your legs as you stood by the kettle. Sliding up to you from the back, it was difficult not to bite his lip when that perfume hit him. It was the same one you always wore, and reminded him of home.
"Where are you goin' smellin' like that?" he teased, holding his breath whilst his palms made contact with your waist. The waist tie was so delicate, it looked as if it could fall off at any point. Spinning round, you revealed an ugly Hannya's face, making him jump back in fear. Releasing his grip on your waist, the beast didn't take kindly to it.
"Sotenbori not good enough for ya?! Your cage?!"
"Huh?! No, it ain't that-!!"
Cowering, the final thing he heard was that maniacal laugh as she tried to gouge his eye out again."Hey, hey, hey," a sleepy voice soothed, small hands shaking him to rouse him from his nightmare.
"Goro, wake up."
It was enough for him to come to, bleary eyed in some shitty hotel room.
Ah. Yes. He was in Sotenbori. He remembered now.
You'd decided to spend a weekend away for his birthday, not realising this place had terrible memories for him. When you had showed him the travel magazine, Sotenbori was listed as a nice getaway or exciting overnight stay.
Bless your heart. You had no idea.He sat bolt upright, still shielding his good eye. "Majima," you whispered, placing your hand over his, which was clutching his right eye socket. "Let me see."
Shaking his head, you were batted away as reality slowly caved in around him.
He wasn't comfortable sleeping in unfamiliar beds. They caused worse nightmares than what he already had, even if you were by his side. Shuddering to catch his breath with a hoarse throat whilst covered in sweat, he felt your presence, welcoming it gradually. He settled a little, enough for you to wrench his hand away.
The skin was a little rosy and sore where he'd rubbed at it in his sleep. Gently stroking over the lid, the pad of your thumb traced his eyebrow, kneading some of tension out as he opened up slowly. Your image filled out his vision, no scary demon lady.
"Still there," you smiled, kissing it gently.
"Course it is," he huffed, holding his head in his hands and flinging backwards onto the pillows. "Was just a bad dream."
You knelt over him, kissing his mouth with a softness he swore he rediscovered from you everytime you kissed him.
"I'll be fine," he lied.
You saw right through it, knowing full well just how fucked up his shit sleep could make him. He was going to be grumpy now. Stroking along his bare arm, you remained in place.
"We don't have to get up just yet."
It was just light enough for him to make out your face properly against the sheets. He had some weird guardian angel.
He wasn't a fan of birthdays. Never had been in the time you'd known him. He never said why exactly, just something along the lines of every passing year making him realise how long his suffering had gone on - Yet you were so patient with him.
Majima always sunk a little in the April time anyway, often right through to the May days. It was like he was reliving some sort of trauma in his mind. You were his lifeline in these times, from being his verbal punching bag to his shoulder to cry on. You kissed his tears away, held him tight, patched up his wounds when he went looking for a brawl, listened to his inane, drunken ramblings about a hit that had gone wrong in the mid eighties. It had something to do with him, you guessed, but he wasn't always the easiest to understand when he was slurring or crying. Whilst you knew he'd lost his eye during some horrible gang torture, he never reckoned he could tell you the cold, hard truth of these things.
"Oh, that reminds me... I got you something!" you yelped, searching your bag beside you.
"Huh? Aww, Babe. I've told ya before about spendin' yer money on me-"
He was cut off by your hands poking a small box into his chest, your big eyes pulling him in as you waited beside him. The gangster sighed, taking it from you and admiring it. It was a small rectangle, neatly wrapped in some shiny purple paper with a green bow on top.
"Open it."
Tearing through the patterned paper with a pout, he was having a little trouble reading the English on the front of the box, especially in the dimness.
"Happy birthday!" you exclaimed excitedly, kissing his cheek. "I think it's that weird samurai movie you told me about! I... Could only get it in in English, though. So, I'll probably have to translate it for you."
"Really? Thank you..."
He was speechless. What a thoughtful gift. You knew him so well. You did such wonderful things for him, and wasted your time with him, yet he still felt so undesirable.
