"I'm goin'," he called, fixing his cuff and meeting gazes with you. He watched as you took his mug and offered it to him, still full of cooling coffee.
"You didn't drink your coffee," you whispered with a smile, handing it to him.
"Oh yeah," he huffed, looking at the dark liquid inside before knocking the entire thing back. "Must've forgot." baring teeth as you giggled, the tips of your fingers found themselves swiping away droplets of his muddy beverage from his plump, wetted lips. There was a small scar from where he'd split his lip fairly recently and the man noted your faint squint when you noticed it, running the pad of your finger over it.
You wondered if you were going back to the days of being unsure where he was or what he was doing and caught yourself, withdrawing your hand and taking his mug from to toss it in the sink.
He bent over to make faces at his daughter in her highchair whilst your back was turned, her lilted giggle tugging at the corners of your mouth even though he couldn't see. She'd been your little surprise, appearing as his dazzling ray of sunshine through the raging storm that was his life. Sighing, you spun, watching him from where you were.
"Well... Off with you then," you mumbled gently, leaning back on the counter waiting for your goodbye kiss. He approached you, looking down with a tender concern laced on his face.

You were silent in response to his expression, instead winding your arms around his tiny waist. That dark, musky scent of his skin against the clean powdery smell of his clothes was the smell of safety and security. He mumbled, stroking a hand down the back of your head, over your hair.
Looking up at him through thick lashes, he mirrored your frown, fingers of his hand dancing up the back of your neck in all the sensitive spots you liked, successfully relaxing your tense muscles, though you tried to fight it. This stupid man knew your body all too well. Nuzzling your face into his chest, he remained patient, waiting for you to volunteer your feelings without being prompted again.
"I love you," you gritted, biting your lip. "Be careful, won't you?"
"'M always careful," he laughed, sensing you wanted to say something different. He wasn't going to stick around for that. The quicker he finished disarming bombs for Tojo, the quicker he could skidaddle and go back to his perfect family life.
"Bet I love ya more, though," he murmured, bending to kiss your lips one more time before leaving. Nobody saw this side of Goro Majima. Just you.
