You're finally home

Things were different after the Star sanses were rescued, without Dream things weren't the same and Starcross was heart broken, knowing that he will never see his mother again same goes for Lux and Cross was devastated, he'll miss Dream's smile, his laugh, his optimism, everything about him gave him life. And Cross can't just give up his life, he has children, two beautiful children that are so much like their mother.

With the others, Ink and Error were finally married and now have two children, both are boys and are named Paper jam and Gradient. As for Blue and Dust, they also got married and had two children and were also boys, their names are Sprinkles and Fury, Epic became more involved with Cross and helped him take care of Lux and Starcross, and Lavender went back to his AU but Lux visited him sometimes, so yes it's been a few years. Dream is placed in a private area filled with golden flowers and Cross visits him often, same goes with his children.

And if you're wondering what happened to Nightmare and his gang, they moved on as well, Nightmare started to feel closer to Killer, and Horror is stuck in a love triangle between Lust and Farm.

It's been 15 years now, Cross and the others were getting older while their children were growing up. Lux was now 27 years old and is newlywed to Gradient while Starcross is now 23 and is currently single.

Cross walked slowly to the field of golden flowers to where the statue of Dream was standing, he gazed at him sadly and answered "great to see you again my love, it's been 15 years now and I ain't getting younger" he joked "but our children sure are getting older and I'm proud of them, Lux is 27 and Star is 23, I hope you know that. And I think someday I might become a grandpa" he chuckled a bit. Cross looked up at Dream and sighed sadly, knowing that Dream couldn't hear him.

Cross stood up and turned to walk away when he suddenly heard.

"Cross?"

Cross turned around and he couldn't believe his eyes. He could see a skeleton made of bones and wore clothes of gold including a golden crown, he had yellow eyes and still had his bow and arrow, and his cape was flowing in the wind shining on the sun that was setting. This, this was Dream, he was alive and well, he was finally home.

Cross ran up to Dream and hugged him as tight as he could hoping that this wasn't a dream (no pun intended).

"Dream, you're back!" Cross replied happily, while tears of happiness streamed down his cheeks, Dream immediately hugged him back missing the warmth of his presence and feeling his strong arms wrapped around his waist.

"I'm so happy to see you too! How long was I gone? I'm so sorry! What happened to Nightmare?" Dream asked, departing from the hug. Cross looked up at him and smiled a bit but then frowned.

"You've been gone for 15 years, and don't worry about Nightmare he moved on and is now starting a new life" Cross smiled again, placing his hand on Dream's cheek which made him blush.

"I'm so sorry... and the children where are they?"

"They grew up, Lux is 27 and Starcross is 23 and obviously they moved out and Lux recently got married to one of ink's children and are now living happily together, while Starcross is living alone but he likes it" this made Dream feel guilty, he missed so much of his life with his family and for 15 years!

"Wait Ink and Error are officially married now?! And they have kids?!" Dream shot up "and what about Blue and Dust? Are they officially partners and have offsprings as well?"

Cross nodded his head "yeah, they both have two boys and they're both a pain in the ass" Cross grumbled a bit in annoyance which made Dream giggle.

"I'm just so happy to see you again" Dream replied, cupping Cross' face and pulling him close to him where their lips were only a few inches away.

Eventually, Cross brought his head closer and placed his lips to Dream's.

"You're finally home" Cross thought to himself happily.
