Drifting away (cream story)

The plan

Okay I'm not going to lie to you, this is the longest chapter I ever wrote so I hope you enjoy!

Lux and Lavender have already discussed their plan, since Lux is small, she can easily fit through small things so she'll be the one that will break in and distract Nightmare and his gang, while Lavender will also sneak in and find the star sanses of where they're hidden.

"Are you sure you want to do this?" Lavender asked Lux feeling worried knowing that Lux is just a kid and doesn't know how to use her powers, if she even has any. "Don't worry I'll be fine, besides I never get caught, I've defeated my lil bro in hide in seek before" Lux replied feeling cool but she was honestly scared, she had met Nightmare before but she knew her uncle didn't like anyone.

Lux opened an air vent and put her little body inside "I'll give you the signal when the coast is clear" she whispered as she put her head inside, Lavender nodded and hid in the bushes, waiting for Lux to do her distracting so he could find the Star sanses and save them.

Cross, Epic, Dust, Error, and Starcross arrived at Nightmare's castle, they all felt anxious, Cross, Dust, and Error know that Nightmare will not be pleased once he sees his former crew come into his door and ask to release their partners.

Cross turned around to where Epic and Starcross were "Epic my dude, take care of Starcross, and don't let him out of your sight" cross answered, as he narrowed his eyes down to Starcross who looked nervous.

"You got it bruh!" Epic answered while doing a salute. "Wait! I want to help!" Starcross stood up but Cross protested.

"No Starcross, it's too dangerous, I don't want to lose you like your sister and mother now stay here with your uncle Epic" Cross answered sternly and walked away, having Dust and Error follow him.

Starcross sighed in both anger and defeat and sat down in the snow while Epic pulled out his rubber chicken and began to play around with it.

Lux made her way into the air vent, there were many paths, but she could hear voices so she followed the path to where the voices were heading. She recognized one voice, obviously belonging to Nightmare.

"Soon I will have the golden apple and I will destroy all the joy in the world and no one will be able to stop me!" Nightmare shouted feeling determined, "and we'll help take over the world with you and we'll be miserable together!" Horror butt in, and Nightmare gave him an visible annoyed look.

Nightmare ignored whatever the hell Horror said, and walked down the hall to where it lead to a small door in the corner. Nightmare opened the door slowly and Lux could see only a peek of what she saw, she saw of what looked like skeletons, one that wore blue and the other beige, but their clothes were a bit torn. It was blue and Ink! But where was Dream?

Lux tried to squint hard enough to where her mother might be, but she couldn't see the colors yellow or gold "they must have put him in a different room" Lux thought to herself. She heard the footsteps of Nightmare and Horror's footsteps fading away and she climbed down from the air vent trying her best not to make any sudden sounds that could lead to Nightmare attacking her.

Lux jumped down from the air vent and ran into a window to where she could see Lavender peeking through the bushes. She waved her hand trying to get his attention, and luckily he noticed and teleported himself to where she was.

"I know where Ink and Blue are, but I still haven't found my mother yet, but for now you can rescue Ink and Blue. Lavender nodded and Lux pointed to where Ink and Blue were hidden and then in a flash Lavender teleported away.

Suddenly she heard yelling coming from down the hall, she panicked, she couldn't climb back up to the air vent and she didn't know how to teleport yet. But luckily she saw a near by tall plant and hid herself there.

"Tell me where Dream is or I'll smash your head with my knife!" A familiar voice shouted angrily, Lux knew exactly who that was, it was her father Cross "he must have come to save mother as well" Lux thought to herself.

She continue to listen to the conversation. "And why should I tell you where Dream is? Cause if I do your gonna screw up my plans" Nightmare replied acting like a bratty child "tell me where Dream is and no one gets hurt!" Cross spat, now pulling out his knife. "Oh Cross, Cross Cross Cross, when will you ever learn? It's impolite to shout at me and I'm not telling you anything" Nightmare retorted as he summoned one of his tentacles and wrapped it around Cross' body.

Suddenly, the door to where Ink and Blue were opened, and out came Lavdnder, Ink, and Blueberry. Nightmare was in pure rage, he threw Cross into the wall and shouted "WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?! AND HOW DID YOU GET IN HERE?!" Nightmare shouted, he was angry, but he was really angry that the Star sanses were released from their cells.

"Attack!" Ink shouted, and out of nowhere his brush appeared "they must have found their weapons when they got out" Lux thought, she tried her best to stay hidden away as possible, but her father was hurt, and Nightmare was powerful, and it was just Lavender, Ink, and Blue, Error and Dust were dealing with Killer and Horror, and Dream was still hidden somewhere, maybe Ink and Blue know where he is.

Ink splat some ink at Nightmare and Blue jumped up and summoned some bones to shoot at him but they didn't affect him as much, the only way to get rid of him was to use positivity but only Dream had that power, it was then, that this was Lux's chance to search for her mother while the others fight off Nightmare.

Lux quickly got out of the talk plant and darted away to the other side of the hallway. There were many doors, Lux peeked into every one of them but they only led into bedrooms, weapons, treasure and trash, and a door that was filled with toys for some reason.

Finally, Lux came to a huge double door that looked like it was made of gold "I hope he's in here" Lux thought to herself hopefully. She opened one side of the double door and quickly went inside and shut the door. At first it was dark but Lux could see a dim light shining on something that looked to be made of stone.

Lux walked closer to it and the odd object and saw that it was in the shape her mother Dream, at first Lux thought that Nightmare had kept a figurine of Dream but this Statue just looked way too much like Dream to be a figurine (the figurines that Lux has seen of her mother looked terrible).

She felt tears pouring down her eyes and streaming down her cheeks "no... y-you can't be turned to stone... how is this even possible?" Lux fell to her knees and hid her face in her hands as she wept, what will she do now? What will she tell her father and brother? Oh her father will be devastated and poor Starcross will be crushed he needs a wonderful mother like Dream and our life isn't complete without him.

Suddenly, Lux heard the big double door open and she heard footsteps "oh I hope she's in here!" Lux heard the familiar voice of Lavender, she wanted to run up and hug him but she was in a very emotional state right now.

"There you are! Oh I thought he got you!" Lavender embraced her with a hug and immediately Lux hugged him back, she could smell his scent, it smelled like lavender, but she realized that it wasn't just the two of them, Blue, Ink, Error, Dust, and Cross were there although due to the fact that Nightmare threw Cross to the wall Cross was being held by Blue.

Everything went silent suddenly, everyone looked up to see the once positive golden skeleton now turned to stone, Cross was especially hurt, yes from the scars from Nightmare but his heart as well.

"No... not Dream..." Cross answered in a small sorrowful whispered, he tried to get up and wanted to hug his partner but he was in so much pain, a few of his ribs were broken and he had a sprained arm.

"I'm so sorry..." Lavender replied sadly while putting his head down.

"Don't be, you risked your life to save ours and we're grateful for that, thank you" Said Blue trying to lighten up the mood but it seems like it didn't work.

"So what are we going to do with Dream?" Dust asked, pointing to the motionless Dream.

"I'm taking him home" Cross answered almost emotionlessly.

See I didn't break my promise! And this is honestly the longest chapter I ever wrote and I believe that there is only one chapter left and then this book will be over, yeah sorry I can't continue it forever...
