Having tea with my baby girls was incredible, especially since it was their first tea party. The only thing that would have made it better was if Mercy had been able to come along. I knew there would be another chance for all of us to have tea together, but I had hoped the twins would have their big sister there for their first tea.

When I got home with the girls, the house was empty, which was welcomed since I had wanted some time to relax before I had to start dinner. The girls went upstairs to change out of their dressy clothes & I changed into something more comfortable. Once the girls were back downstairs, I suggested we go for a bike ride since it was a beautiful sunny day. They were excited since that meant more time not having to share me with their siblings. The girls begged me to take a photo of us, so I did, then we were on our way to explore the neighborhood.

Riley wanted to ride to the playground in our neighborhood, but when we got there, it was all taped up with a sign that it was under construction. Both girls looked so disappointed, I felt horrible. "The playground was in bad shape, girls. It looks like someone is going to fix it up & maybe it will be just in time for really warm weather." I looked over at the end of the playground area & pointed. "Look! I think they're expanding it, too. Oh I think this playground is going to be amazing. Better than it was before."

"Yea, maybe. It did need some work." Riley said with a shoulder shrug as she got back on her bike.

"I can't wait until it's finished." Harper chimed in, then looked at her sister. "Want to race back home so we can swing?"

"Yesss!" Riley yelled as she & Harper got in position to start pedaling.

"Okay, but be careful & don't go too fast. Make sure you watch for all the traffic signs."

"We will, Mommy. You say, ready, set, go!"

"Ready! Set! GO!" I shouted as I watched my girls take off together. I followed them a moment later, making sure I kept my eyes on them as we made our way home.

A little later, I was making dinner, when I heard the front door slam. I thought it might be Mercy & my suspicions were right when she came walking into the kitchen. "Hey Mercy, how was the play?" I asked without looking at her since I was getting some ingredients out of the fridge.

"It was good. It got me thinking I want to do some theater one day."

I smiled at my daughter as I put the items on the counter, then I pressed a few buttons on the oven. "That would be awesome. You're definitely talented enough. With your voice & your knack for dramatic acting, you'd be perfect in the theater. And your dad would absolutely love that."

Mercy wore a playful smirk as she sat at the counter across from me. "Yea, he would. He does love the theater. Whatcha doing?"

"Starting dinner."

"I thought we were going to dad's tonight."

"You are. Your dad has the boys right now. They went to play some kind of sport with Joe & Joel. I told your dad he could stay for dinner & then you guys can leave with him after."

My daughter had a twinkle in her eye that reminded me of Nick, but I wasn't sure what it was about. "Doesn't your new boyfriend get jealous with all the time you spend with Dad?"

I froze at Mercy's question then chuckled as I shook my head, watching my daughter as she leaned on the counter, watching me, closely. "No, he understands our relationship."
