From the darkroom of night develops a clear picture come dawn. The noisy cars, honking, and neighbors talking and fighting in the distance.
As I awake from my slumber, I hear knocking on my apartment door. Scattered around the bedroom were holes, a few stale mouse traps, and the washed-out, peeling wallpaper old enough to be from the '60s or '70s. The frame of the prehistoric bed is decrepit and creaky and the mattress tired and flattened. Moving my feet from the thin blanket and setting them on the ice-cold floor, I see a slip of paper under the door. An eviction notice, bright red paper with flashing white letters that I feared so much.
I scramble outta bed picking up the empty cans of beer on the floor and throwing them into the overflowing trash. After picking up the sign of imminent concern, I set it on the counter to stress over later.I walk out the door once I've changed and rummaged through my purse looking for my car keys to get to work. Someone rapidly approaches before taking my bag from my arms and bolting off.
"Hey!, Give that back! You thief!" I'm shouting as I'm bolting down the city streets turning and turning down roads and alleyways.
The chase goes for a few minutes before we reach an alleyway with no exit at the end. They're cornered.
"Give me my bag back!"
As I shout at the person, a huge burst of energy shoots out of nowhere and the figure falls onto the ground dropping the bag. The person disappears like magic as the bag falls down an envelope with a wax seal inside. I decide it's best to wait 'till I return home after work since I'm already late and I don't want to lose my job today. After Work: 7 Pm Pst L.A. U.S.A
I returned home to find the police at my door.
"Ma'am? Are you Ms. Moonstone?" The female officer says with a general worried expression.
"Yes, that's me? Is there something wrong? Did someone break in again?" I walked closer to the officer.
"No, however, I'm sorry to inform you, your mother overdosed on her meds. I'm sorry for your loss. " She says sorrowfully."Yeah, uhh thanks," I responded meekly and confused. They asked more questions: where is my father? How old am I? Do I drink? How long has my mother been like this?
When they left I settled down in my house. Today sucked, my mother died, now I'm alone, and tomorrow I'm evicted. I set my bag down and a letter falls out. It's small and purple and has a wax seal on it that's gold-like.
"I mean what's the worst it could be? Drugs? Counterfeit Cash? More debt?" I say sarcastically. I already have to find a new place or pay what's due which I can't.
Once I opened it ribbons and little flurries flew out of it like magic, the letter read,Dear Amethyst Moonstone,

"What the fuck? Is this some sort of joke or something? What did I expect from something like this, 100% a joke." I angrily, sarcastically laugh before mockingly huffing out, "Strix Foxes! Strix Foxes! Strix Foxes!" I wait for a minute. Nothing happens.
"See? Joke! Stupid lett-" Outta nowhere a portal opens up and I'm falling from the sky!
"AHHHhhHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!" I'm screaming as I fall to the ground.
When I hit the ground it doesn't hurt and I'm met with a gigantic Castle.
"What. The. Heck!?" I say looking around myself seeing fairies, mermaids, elves, and flying brooms. I faint.
Everything is so unreal I can't think I must be dreaming.
Sorry for the mini chapter
