Hi, it's me, the author.

Sorry I made the title sound like a crappy Buzzfeed article.

Honestly, I didn't really expect to be writing this today. I just had the idea to log into Wattpad and here I am.

I write this because I owe it to people who might still be expecting a new chapter to come out of this story after so many months of nothing.

The truth of the matter is, I lost my drive.

Motivation is hard to find again once you lost it.

I don't want to force myself either because the thing that made writing this story so much fun in the first place was because I genuinely wanted to do it. Even at the expense of my first job.

Yes, I got berated by my boss because I was on Wattpad during work hours. (worth it.)

I couldn't help it. My brain was just filled with so much ideas that I kept typing away at the keyboard nonstop. I was like a machine, publishing chapters day after day. Then overtime it became weeks, then months, then I think my longest gap was almost a year.

So many different factors affected me and I just lost the drive to write lately.

Here are some of them:

1. WORK
Probably the biggest deterrent to writing. I did not expect to be swamped with so much work despite it being from home. There's so many deadlines to keep track of. I have to talk with different clients, and it's the night shift, so I'm awake at night and asleep in the morning.

2. Moving
I moved houses again for the nth time this year. It's been so many times I swear to God, I've became insanely good at packing my stuff in a box. The place I've moved to is definitely more spacious, but it consumes more electricity. I had to set up internet again, that was fun.

3. Gaming
Finally got myself a Switch. I bought a used one when the Lockdown was still at full swing and I have not regretted it since. I bought a shit ton of games for it as well as for my PS4 so I'm still trying to finish my backlog of games.

and finally

4. A change of interest.
Yeah, truth be told, I'm just not that updated with K-pop anymore. I still search up Twice and BTS from time to time, but am I excited for their new comebacks? No, not really. Do I find myself watching the latest Time to Twice or Run BTS? No, not really. Do I still like them? Yes, but not at the level I used to. That's just how it is, you learn to like new things, you move on from other things. People grow, people change, time moves forward, life goes on.

So what am I into lately? Well, let's just say, I fell down a rabbit hole.

And it's not letting me out anytime soon.

So yeah. That was my little snippet. I'm sure you're asking, what does this mean for Wild World? Well, I guess I'll just put it on hiatus. I don't want people to expect a new chapter coming anytime soon, because even I don't know when that will be. I do have a general outline of how the story ends, but again, I just lost the drive to finish it.

Who knows, maybe someday the drive will come back again and I'll finish this story, but for now, I don't want to force myself. I'll keep making stories at my own pace because I don't see the point in sharing a story to others if I myself aren't satisfied by it.

Writing this story really showed me how much I love storytelling in general. That incredible balancing act of make a story that satisfies both you and the audience is a tough one, mad props to all writers and aspiring writers out there.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm ready to get my ass kicked for the 20th time in Code Vein.

Update soon?
Maybe.
