A/N

Hello readers! There has been an influx of comments recently asking for a reveal of when exactly Bucky realized he was in love with Dawn. So, in light of these requests and in celebration of the release of the sequel, I have decided to give the people what they want. If you can't figure it out, this takes place at the beginning of chapter 19. I love you all, enjoy. This is dedicated to GeorgeO24

Bucky Barnes

"I just don't get it Marius. I've gone a hundred years perfectly fine, it feels like at least, and now that this one girl is gone it doesn't feel the same"

My one friend in this city, besides my blonde stalker that I just exploded at and shoved away, sighs and stops cleaning around his shop for a moment. His tired eyes look up to me and he begins to grumble underneath his breath about something like being the only sensible one in this city before he takes a seat at the table I'm at. He sits for a second before he throws his hand up in exasperation.

"Well, you've got me sitting, boy. Don't stop whining now" Marius announces, looking at me expectantly. If there wasn't this awful feeling that I've just made the biggest mistake of my life sitting in the pit of my stomach, I would have laughed. I sigh and adjust the baseball cap on my head.

"I don't know how to explain it," I begin, the early morning light streaming into the shop that I fled to after Dawn left last night, "It's like when she showed up, everything changed, and now that she's gone, my life won't go back to the way it was before. Instead, it just feels like there's something...missing"

I don't know what I expect, maybe a pat on the hand or an insightful word or something along those lines, but it's not what I get. Instead, Marius stands up, reaches over, and slaps me harshly upside the head before he sits back down.

"Ow! What was that for?" I exclaim, looking up at the old man with wide eyes. I bring a hand up to rub the spot where he hit me. For someone so frail-seeming, he's uncannily strong.

"That is for being an idiot, Bucky!" Marius declares, crossing his arms and glaring at me, "A girl like that? She doesn't come around every day. Then there she was, like an angel from above, making my most depressed customer smile. Do you realize that in the years I've known you, you have never smiled?"

I sit silently as he goes on, my mind whirring over Marius' words. Instead of making me feel like I did the right thing, he's just heightening the horrible sinking feeling in my chest. The feeling that tells me if I never see her again, I might have this missing feeling in my life forever, in my heart forever.

"Listen, boy. You had a fight, so what? It happens all the time. Don't just sit here and wallow in your self pity while you lose that girl, get up and fight for this!" Marius finishes.

There's a burning in my chest and I nod, standing up from the table with a screech along the floor of the chair. He's right. I don't completely understand what this is, but all I know is that Dawn Beckett came into my life and now I don't know how to live if she's not in it. I never knew I needed someone so desperately until I met her, and she didn't even try.

"You're right, I've gotta go find her before her plane leaves" I rush out, stooping down and grabbing my backpack, slinging it along my shoulders and jogging for the door.

"Don't forget to invite me to the wedding!" I hear Marius shout out as I burst out into the streets of Bucharest and immediately head for the house she was staying in before she moved in with me for however short it was.
