I got dressed for the evenings events and made my way to my office. I had some papers to sign that I needed to bring tonight in order to complete a deal with Santoro. Although we were buddies, he did everything traditionally by the books, including the way he handles deals - with everyone.
"Ricco."
"Boss," he responded, coming around the corner with his hands locked in front of him.
"Go tell Evelina she has ten minutes to get down here so that we can leave."
Without another word, he took off down the hall. We only had so much time to get there but I wasn't concerned about being late, that wasn't an issue. I'd show up whenever I'd want. But I needed to meet Santoro there to finish a deal. And I had a certain time slot to make because he would only be there for a limited amount of time.
"You could at least give me a little bit more time, you know," a light voice said behind me, paired with the clicking sound of heels. "It took a whole hour just to squeeze myself into this damn dress."
