Hey there it’s me , this girl that you’ve seen
Probably through your phone screen
You know my name , you’ve seen me walking down the street
You buy the products that I am selling, you buy inBut what have you bought into?
A falsehood, a lie
I mean you say you know so much
And you probably doBut you only know what I tell you
You’ve seen the headlines, the scandals but you don’t know my side of the story
Nobody does
I try to speak and you close your ears if it’s not about the latest trends
Or How to lose a guy in just ten daysBut I’ve been wanting to make a difference from this screen that I’m on
But in real life, I’m a portrait painted to perfection and if I’m not I’m judgedIt’s hard being famous, it’s hard being in charge, it’s hard being successful
But mostly ,it’s hard being a woman
On a screen
Knowing that what you’ve said to me
About having kids, handling the kitchen,
Wouldn’t be said to a manThe public covers up his mistakes but shows mine in shining light and disdain
And like this phone, I seem new but I’m broken
