*I just think we need to talk about this because it's all too common*
I know this girl
She's a lot like me
Wanting to be the best at everythingWanting to be better, be brighter, to be smarter, to be thinner
So first, it's just lots of exercise and smaller meals
You really don't feel as if it's a big dealBecause you need to be perfect
But it grows and soon enough, you're still not good enough
Not smart enough, skins not clear enough, just not pretty enough
So what's one less meal and excessive exercise
Excessive face scrubs and masks
Until prettiness and perfection exudes from your poresBut now, it's the clothes
Not as cute as that popular girl in your class
So you throw out your closet
You buy a brand new wardrobe
You start wearing makeupAnd then you become, someone new
But it's still not right. Because deep down you'll never be good and proper and pretty and
Well, perfect
But you never needed to be all of those things
Because you are pretty and smart and strong
And who cares what jean size you wearDo you feel good? You should feel good.
Never change. Cause you'll always be good enough to me
