I have to make my heart beat,
When you walk away,
Because it just wants to shatter,
Into a million pieces,
Even if you tell me it’s the end,
I still picture it,
All the different paths,
Life can take,
That can save a soul,
Without being tarnished with regret,
Anger, betrayal and revenge,
Because revenge can change a person,
And make them stay away,
From the people who love them,
But have been pushed away,
Through the devastation in the heart,
That was once shared,
But is now shattered in two.
