"Zack...." I choke out.

Zack looks over at me and smirks, though I do see a hint of pity in his forest green eyes. He pulls Gerard off of me. "Gerard, before you start this, let me explain to her what is going on," Gerard backs away, giving Zack a nod. I think I'm in shock because I I can't think clearly, I can't move, and I can't talk.

My dead brother is right here, standing In front of me.
He looks exactly like I remember him; same sleek black hair, same round face, same snakebites and septum piercings, same bright green eyes that would sometimes show hints of blue and hazel... This was my brother...
Though, he had changed so much. he was definitely not human. his skin was much paler then what it used to be, I can't really describe it. He is a lot bigger as well. back then, he was really skinny with a lot of extra skin, now he has a fair amount of muscle. his hair use to be a muddy brown, but is now raven black. most importantly, he looks stronger.

"Z-Zack... Wh-what? How? Huh...." Is all I manage to stutter out. this is all too much to take in. He looks at me and sits us down on the bed. "okay, Reven, I know this is a lot to take in, but, I'm gonna explain this to you, slowly."

"You're not dead?" I ask, dumbfounded. I know I sound really dumb, but who wouldn't be in this situation?

"No, I am not dead." He starts. "when they left me outside that night, I knew I wasn't going to die, all of that was a part of the plan."

"What do you mean 'all of that was a part of the plan'? So, you knew the time?! Do you know that I never got over your 'death'! It has been eating me alive for seven years!" I yell. he looks at me with guilt in his eyes.

"I know. it was wrong of me not to tell you, but, it would have put you in danger and I couldn't let that happen. you are the only family I have left." He looks down. "I didn't know you would try to commit suicide..." his voice breaking. in all my life, I have never seen Zack cry until now. He looks up and blood is rolling down his cheeks. my eyes widen, he notices this and wipes the blood away. "sorry, sense us vampires can't live off of human food, we loose dehydration. All that comes out is blood."
All I can say is "oh"
There is a uncomfortable silence for a few minutes until I break it,
"So, I overheard, what I am assuming you and Gerard saying that I was the one? What exactly does that mean?"
he takes a deep breath before answering,
"Vampires have no soul, well, we do, but it isn't as powerful and caring as the human soul. the best way I can describe it, is that once you gets turned, it gets darker and you get weaker. being a vampire means stronger physically, but a weaker spirit. " he says.

"Okay, so what does that have to do with me being 'the one'?"'i ask.

"There is a book that us vampire live by. it is called the book of morals. it states that there will be a vampire that will be able to keep its soul. this vampire will be able to save us. they say that this vampire can keep its control, it's compassion, everything that makes a human, it will also have immunity to the sunlight. we have come to the conclusion that you're the one."

"Save you from what? What do you need protecting from?" I ask. you would think vampire could protect themselves.

"Andronikos." he says simply.

"Andronikos? You mean the mayor? What does he have anything to do with this?" I ask.

"Think about it, we have a fence keeping us all Locked up in this hellhole for eternity, the mayor sits back and watches us kill people every night without doing anything. can't you see he is using us?"

"I get that, but, it's been like that sense before he was even born. how would he have anything to do with it?" He looks at me with a you-are-a-fuckin-idiot kinda look.

"Can't you see that he is not human ether? He's been here sense before this town was built, he was the starter of everything. no one is sure what he is, but he's definitely not mortal." he says.

"So, you think I am the one?"

"Yes, I do. I believe you can do great things for us and I believe you can put an end to all of this. all you have to do, is let us turn you. that is the only way we can know for sure." he looks straight into my eyes. "so, will you let us?"
