Renshu felt itchy and uncomfortable all over. Renshu's fingers twitched, his body twisted and his mind was filled with the desire to relieve this sensation, to scratch and scratch and scratch but he didn't know where to start. His muscles tensed in frustration and a spike of pleasure ran through him.
Renshu groaned, seeking out that feeling, and realizing that it was coming from his hair.
His hair.
His feelers...
Renshu opened his eyes, sprung up, and immediately found Mer.
Mer stared back blankly. . If it weren't for his fist trembling on the strange, amethyst-like floor, Renshu would think that this bizarre feeling did not affect him.
"What did you do?!" Renshu screamed as he tried to retreat.
Mer's Feelers tightened around his own, traveling up higher to secure its hold.
Pleasure once again shot through him and Renshu yelled, "Stop!"
"If I let go, you'll shut down again," Mer replied calmly.
Renshu paused realizing that the burning sensation was the electric current flowing through his empty wires.
Embarrassed, Renshu looked away and sat still. Seeing his compliant, Mer loosened the hold and once again only intertwined the tips.
Renshu distracted himself and checked out where they were at.
To humans, the cave would have looked pitch black, nothing but darkness ahead but Renshu and Mer were different, equipped with the Zerg's night vision.
The whole area was purple like a Telly tubby threw up in here. But it was a lovely purple. The entire tunnel seemed to be made of amethyst. The floor was smooth, even though jagged crystals protruded from the wall. Luckily, the path was wide and easy to walk through without being impaled.
The scenery was kind of a waste, really. Why have a beautiful crystal cave without a light source to play with?
When Renshu could no longer distract himself, he murmured softly, "You got hurt by a giant bug. That was pretty dumb."
Mer stared at him, silent. Renshu's tails swished agitatedly, "Why did you save me?"
Mer replied, "Why did you?"
"You could have used me as bait."
"You could have left me there."
"You're going to shut down sharing your battery."
"Without your nanobots, your body will not recover."
Both went silent.
Renshu swallowed and whispered, "Thanks."
No one had ever risked their life to save him. It was a strange and uncomfortable feeling.
But warm.
Renshu wasn't sure if he liked it.
"You are welcome," Mer replied softly. He paused, then added, "Thank you.
A small smile appeared on Renshu's lips. "No problem."
The two sat quietly next to each other, Feelers entangled and recharging.
--------------
"What happened after I shut down?"
Mer stared at the wall as he recounted, "Your nanobots repaired enough that I restarted. Taking in the situation, I went to where the rig was set up which was over a chasm. I climbed down the sides of the chasm and at the bottom was a Mouth, which took us here." Mer paused. "You should be charged enough, let us continue."
