It was the clinking that woke Renshu up. A pounded headache made the back of Renshu's eyeballs throb as he slowly pushed himself up. Shackles were wrapped around his wrists and ankles, welded tightly against the padded wall. Wrapping his hands around the icy chains, Renshu pulled with all his might with his jelly-like muscles. Even with all his strength, Renshu was unable to pull them off.
Pricks of panic ran through his head as he dropped the chain and saw the Yellow Brick Road Restriction was simply a large circle encompassing the room. It didn't even touch the door out, let alone the walls.
Trapped.
"Renshu?"
Blankly lifting his head, Renshu stared at Idan who smiled at him in his long white coat. His once long hair was cut short, locks tickling his ears. Golden eyes stared intensely at him, a soft smile lingering on his thin, pale lips.
Renshu's mind raced with questions and possibilities, a wave of anger growing and spewing out of his lips, "You trapped me here?!"
"You don't like it?" Idan seemed to wilt. "I thought for sure you would like it better here than Maple Valley."
"How did you even get me here?" Throwing himself forward, the chains strained and locked Renshu just out of reach, unable to rip that bastard's face off.
Smiling helplessly, Idan held out his hands. "I have always been going to school for Psychology. You might not have known this but my parents were quite well off and had quite a few connections. So I just pulled a few strings to get you here."
Renshu screamed at the System, "Is that even possible?!"
[Host, protagonist halo.]
Where the hell do you buy one, then! I'll take twenty!
[....not for sale, Host. The gods give them out.]
Unfair!
"It wasn't going to be like this at first," Idan whispered, crouching down. His yearning face was disgusting, that hand wanting to reach out.
If he comes near, he's dead.
"At first, I thought we would just move in together. But then, you said you were getting bored with me. It never occurred to me until then that you might leave." His voice was muffled, eyes reddening.
"And then-and then!- you even betray me and try to turn me into the police?" Sparks of anger lit his voice. "If I hadn't had a substitute already planned out, I could have really been sent to death instead. Is that what you wanted? You got tired of me so you wanted to get rid of me?!"
Idan waited in desperation for an answer, the hope in his eyes dying out, madness and obsession taking over.
"We are bound together by spilled blood. Accomplices for life. You can't just leave." An insane grin split his lips, laughter falling out. "Even our corpses will rot together. Renshu," A sigh. "I finally have you again."
[Host, your Rank has dropped to 0.
Comments: What is this? A secret path? What about the FL? Screw this! This isn't what you promised! I'm out!]
Staring at the Rank and then at the insane protagonist, a lost feeling swallowed Renshu whole. His body slumped forward, all strength gone. "W-wait...this isn't-it wasn't supposed to be like- I didn't mean-"
"It's much too late for that, Renshu."
[It's much too late for that, Host.]
Bottom lip quivering, tears well up and drip off Renshu's face. "Get out."
"Renshu?" Idan called out, smiling.
"GET OUT!" Renshu screamed, lunging at him, over and over even as the shackles broke the skin and dripped blood from his wrists, staining the padded floor. "GET OUT, GET OUT, GET OUT, GET AWAY FROM ME!"
Sobs burst from his chest, strangling his shrieks.
"Aww, how cute. I've never seen you cry before." Idan squatted down and happily watched as Renshu broke apart.
