Ending up in Maple Palm Valley could be just the change of scenery Renshu needed. After all, The Female Lead worked here.

The drive to the place was less than friendly, silent with glances of disgust from the guards. Of course, it didn't help that Renshu was constantly cursing and glaring back at them despite Rein Nett's pleading to stop.

A wave of relief came as the vehicle pulled up to Maple Palm Valley. It looked like a prison with a tall white wall surrounding it. Inside the wall were a couple of saplings and a large square brick building. Four white pillars were in front and two people in bright uniforms came out of double wired glass doors.

The guards and the two workers talked briefly as Renshu was escorted out and ushered into the building. Renshu barely had a chance to take in the lobby with scratched floors and yellow lights of the lobby before dragged into a side room.

The room was blank, simple white walls and an old sofa with a few worn spots.

Geez, the outside looked impressive so why did the inside look so shitty? Where did all the money go?

Scowling at the room, the movement got Renshu to glance at the Female Lead behind the desk.

Her white coat which was draped over her and somehow against all odds enhanced her lithe body had the words 'Ms. Indigo' stitched in black lettering. Violet eyes peered at Renshu, her flawless pale skin making her thin pink lips seem darker. Her black hair was cut in a bob. Back straight and shoulders squared, those elegant hands were poised over her laptop, ready to write.

"Hello, Mr. Renshu. My name is Lydia Indigo, you may call me Ms. Indigo." Her voice was cool and soothing, like a chilled breeze during a hot summer day.  "I am here to do your primary evaluation before you enter the institute."

 Renshu nodded, leaning silently forward.

The two guards beside him stiffened as the handcuffs clinked together.

"Before we begin, I would like to transfer all my money in my bank account over to my aunts. Is there any way you could do that?" Renshu asked, smiling.

Emotions unmoved, Ms. Violet answered, "I will talk to the proper authorities about having that done. Now, let's begin with a simple question." Gazes locked. "Why did you attempt to kill that girl?"

The fox leaned back into the couch, head cocked.

"There is no need to think so hard about your answer," Lydia informed. "After all, you were already sent here. Lying and telling the truth, it won't change your predicament."

Shrugging, Renshu answered truthfully, "The bitch deserved it."

Lydia's eyebrow twitched slightly. "Oh? Care to clarify?"

"Humans think they can get away with a lot when those backing them hold power. When they themselves hold power. However, I think their needs to be an entity who slaps that notion right out of their heads who punishes them, keeps them in line." Eyes darkening, Renshu continued, "When karma bites back, it bites back hard. Tears the skin, breaks the bone."

Flashing teeth, the fox finished, "It's quite the bloody delight, being chosen to do the right thing. Though those on the other side might call that villainous, the Heavens see it as retribution."

Yes, this update is short, but I'm planning two updates today. Also, this arc is almost over! Not a lot of loving with the two MCs in this arc but their relationship is going to develop slow. But when it does....hohohoho.....
