Trigger Warning: mentions of suicide and loss of a loved one

Ushijima had finally decided to go on a walk. It had been nearly two weeks since he went on his daily walk in the park.

After graduating, he had gotten a small house in town, one just a few blocks from a beautiful park.

He knew skipping morning practice while missing evenings for "personal reasons" wasn't good, even when it was just him staying at home not wanting to go because Tendou wasn't on the team.

He sighed, getting dressed in a white shirt with a light purple sweater over it, not zipping up the lavender hoodie. He put on some light bleached jeans and grabbed a water bottle before heading out.

He walked out of the house and smiled, seeing the familiar redhead waiting by his mailbox.

"Morning Wakatoshi-Kun~"

Tendou said, waving at him with his signature smile.

He was wearing a light blue shirt with a picture of a sunset near water, making the water ripples blend into the blue of his shirt. A yellow sweater was messily hanging off of his shoulders, scrunched up at his forearms. It's sleeves were just barely over his hands, flopping around as he excitedly waved to his friend. He wore brown jeans to complete the look, along with some black and white checkered vans.

"You haven't been going on our daily walks! I've had to go on them all by myself."

Tendou huffed as he lectured his tall friend about how going on walks is healthy for a volleyball player like Ushijima.

He waved back, walking over to his peculiar looking friend. Tendou had dark circles under his eyes and his hair was messier than normal.

He tilted his head slightly, Tendou noting the confusion in his friend's eyes.

"Oh, uh I didn't sleep well last night."

"I told you to call me when you can't sleep, I don't mind listening to you talk about whatever is keeping you up that night."

"I know but it was stupid, and you need sleep for practice. I heard you didn't go the past few days, why?"

Ushijima shrugged as he walked with the curious redhead to the park, Tendou pointing out small details he liked of the busy town in the morning.

Ushijima smiled and held Tendou's hand.

"Tendou, do you need gloves? You feel cold, it is a bit breezy this morning I suppose."

Tendou let go of his hand, smiling softly and shaking his head.

"No no, I'm alright Wakatoshi-kun. I have pockets for a reason."

He said, putting his hands in the pockets of his sweater.

The entire walk, Ushijima had been getting weird looks, but he brushed it off as some of the people who judged Tendou at first sight.

When they finally got back to his house, Ushijima realized he had a note on his door.

"Sorry Tendou, let me read this really quickly."

Tendou saw the familiar writing and tried to stop him.

"C'mon Ushiwaka, you don't wanna read a boring letter like that. It's probably another fan writing to you, let's go to that cafe you li-.."

He trailed off when he saw the shock on his friends face.

"I'm guessing you read it. I know, I'm sorry."

Ushijima dropped the letter, his younger team member Goshiki's hand writing fading and streaking down the paper as it landed in a puddle.

The letter read: 'Dear Ushijima, I know you're upset about the incident, everyone was shocked and for a good reason. But you can't keep missing practice and shutting everyone out. I can't keep checking on you with food, I need to also focus on college. Here's the inivitation to the burial and funeral sevice. Thought you'd appreciate it, coach said his mother gave it to him for you. She knew Tendou loved you, everyone could tell by the way he looked at you. You knew, no you still know that he loved you. Anyways, take care, from Goshiki.'

Ushijima shook his head in shock, the memories coming back, the flashing lights, the phone call, everything.

He looked at Tendou, who was already gone.

All that was left was the final words Tendou said, "I wish I could've walked in the park with you once more. I love you Ushijima Wakatoshi, and for that, I'm sorry."

He let tears blur his vision as he read the invitation to the funeral service.

"I love you, Tendou Satori."
