"Good morning babe."

"Morning. Nice bed hair by the way."

"Don't tell anyone please."

"Why? It suits you."

"You're trying not to laugh."

"It's quite different from your usual style, but my point still stands."

"Hiccup."

"Ugh, fine. My lips are sealed."

"Good. So what is next on the agenda, soldier boy?"

"A lengthy discussion with two prisoners."

"Have fun."

"Thanks?"

Merry Christmas you filthy animals!

Hiccup sighed, then reached for his phone. Unlocking it, he found Gobber was calling. "Call me crazy, but I have a feeling that something bad will happen, or has already happened; since that's been the case whenever my boss calls me, instead of texting."

"Well let's hope things are different this time," murmured Astrid.

"Yeah," Then Hiccup finally responded to the call. "Hello?"

"Just woken up. What happened this time?"

"...Right," Hiccup hung up, then placed his phone back on the nightstand. "You just might be a good luck charm, milady."

Astrid smirked. "I am, huh?"

"Mhm. Thanks for that. Got some people from the Jaeger Corps showing up today, looking for possible new recruits. My boss wants me to show them around."

"That sounds fun I guess. What sort of people do they look for?"

"People who won't freak out around injections, and who are fit and stuff. Mostly the injection thing though. The rest can be trained."

"Okay," Astrid nodded. "Best not hold up then, right?"

"Oh, I think I've got a bit of time. There's something I want to do first."

"And what would that be?" she inquired, sounding curious.

"This," Hiccup replied, then kissed his girlfriend soundly, so much so that her mind went blank and left her breathless, with the blonde failing to register Hiccup pulling away and swiftly leaving the room with his soldier uniform in his grasp.

"You gonna get ready for work or what?" Hiccup teased, returning to the room once he was dressed.

She rolled her eyes fondly. "Smooth, Haddock. Very smooth. I'm jealous."

"Plenty more where that came from, milady," he replied, as he pulled on socks and donned shoes, then grabbed his phone. "Text me when you leave. I happen to have a smart lock on that door through there, so just let me know when you leave."

"Sure thing."

"Thanks. Catch you later, Astrid."

"You too."

Astrid was only slightly more prepared for the kiss that followed, but she still melted against him, and the feeling of warmth from the night before made a return, spreading through her entire chest and beyond; to the rest of her body.

She didn't recall when she had closed her eyes, but she opened them when she felt her boyfriend pull away from her lips again, then watched him leave.

Freyja, if he keeps kissing me like that, I'll definitely fall in love with him , was her only thought as he disappeared from view and she heard the door open and close.
