Andy~

He was resting in the armchair on one of the rare breaks footmen had. "I suppose you must be the new footman," said a voice. Andy quickly looked up from his newspaper to see a man lighting a cigarette. "Then you suppose right. I'm Andy," he said, putting his hand out to shake it. "I'm Thomas," he replied, inhaling some smoke. After that, they sat in silence. Andy reading his newspaper and thinking about the girl he'd met, Daisy. Thomas kept giving him odd little glances, pretending to look at a notice on the wall. Finally, he got impatient. "Where's Daisy?" he asked. "In the kitchen I suppose. As all assistant cooks are," replied Thomas in his drawling voice. He put his paper down and walked out. He bumped into Daisy in the corridor. "Daisy?" he asked, "there's a new film showing at the pictures tonight. Would you like to go?" She looked surprised, as if going out was a strange thing. "I'd have to ask Mrs Patmore, it's not my day off," she explained. "Ask me what?" Mrs Patmore said, putting her head round the door. "If I could go to the pictures, tonight, with Andy," she muttered, turning scarlet. "Of course you can you daft girl. Take her out Andy, she doesn't get out much," said Mrs Patmore. He nodded and smiled, feeling pleased with himself.
