Chapter 3

"Bonjour ma soeur."

"I don't want to go to school, I don't feel too good."

He touched her forehead, "really? You're fine."

"But I just don't feel fine inside of my belly."

"You're just nervous. Come on, even the bunny's ready to go."

"Please, Jamie?"

"Please don't try to use cute sibling trap on me, we gotta go so get up."

"I hate you," she said and the words pierced his heart.

"Please never say that to me again, Kayla, you have no idea how much I love you, it's just you I have left to keep going, okay."

"Relax JJ, I was just joking."

"Never ever joke like that."

"JJ, if you leave me and go to mommy and daddy, what should I do?"

"You should remember that God is always with you and will never leave you."

"Exactly, then you should be the same and believe that God is with you. Even if I hate you, God will always love you!"

James smiled and gave her a hug, "now go take a bath."

"Ugh!" She groaned as he carried her out of bed.

After they'd prepared and had eaten, James was about to lock the door when Marilyn remembered something.

"Wait!"

"What? Why do you always scream like that?"

She ran in and came out with their bunny, Lola.

"It's show and tell day. You should be there," she commanded.

"I'll do my best. Now let's pray before we go." He holds her hand. "Thank you for the good night sleep you gave us and for this new day, be with us forever in Jesus name Amen."

"Amen, thank God you remembered."

She boarded her bus and he met with Henry on his.

"Hey J, what's up?" Henry asked as he sat next to him.

"Nothing much. Just tired, as usual," he throws his head back.

"Well you brought it upon yourself."

"Oh come on, everyone knows that God doesn't exist," they hear and turn to look at the black queen and her pack.

"Then why are there so many believers around?" One of the members asked.

"They're just confused," she started texting on her phone.

"I mean, look at the news," she showed them a video of the places where tsunamis and earthquakes are talking place.
"If God were alive why do people die? Why do viruses exist and why is there no peace in the world."

At this point, James already started to clench his fists in anger.

"But then again, there's still a question to ask," another of her pack members said. "Why is it that those who say they believe are getting healed?"

Everyone looks at Queen for answers.

"Probably it's demons."

"The same thing was said about Jesus. And they still believe in Him."

"Well... Come on, Sarah are you with us or them? Don't tell me you believe in Him too? Even after what happened with your mom."

Sarah looked down disappointed, "no, I was just, just curious."
