"Jamie, where are we going?" Marilyn asked him as they walked into the small park next to the school.

"You always wanted to come here, right?" She looked around and nodded.

"Well, here we are. You know, this place is where mom and dad met. Dad was the manager's son and soon took the business up."

"And mommy?"

"She was still in college and kept coming here to calm down a little. Mom and dad never brought you here because they became even more busy with work, but always made time for you. We practically own this place and we could make it something better. But, for now, let's just visit it after school."

They both walked to the small artificial pond next to them. The wind blew and people chattering went with it.

"You call me out upon the water. The great unknown where feet may fail."

"And there I find you in the mystery, in oceans deep, my faith will stand."

"And I will call upon Your name. And keep my eyes above the waves, when oceans rise, my soul will rest in Your embrace, for I am Yours and You are mine."

"Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders, let me walk upon the waters, wherever You will call me."

"Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander and my faith will be made stronger in the presence of my saviour."

"And I will call upon Your name. And keep my eyes upon the waves when oceans rise, my soul will rest in Your embrace, for I am Yours and You are mine."

"Jamie, what's a college?" She asked breaking the silence and he laughed.

"Let's go home, Marilyn."

They turned around and saw that the people who were there were taking videos of them. They forgot they were there for a while.

They started clapping and James looked at Marilyn before saying thank you and rushing away.

They walked back home and Marilyn stopped by the door.

"What's wrong, Kayla?"

"James, if mommy and daddy are in heaven and we're not looking after the park, then who is?"

"Don't worry about that."

They both walked inside and once they freshened up, they had their dinner before settling to watch TV.

James' mind just kept drifting to the year earlier, when all the chaos began.

A year earlier

"Mom, dad, we're home," James said as he sat down on the couch while Marilyn ran to the kitchen for a snack.

"Jamie, I can't reach the cookie jar."

"Don't touch anything, I'm coming."

He reached for the jar and no sooner had he lowered it than his phone started ringing.

He brought the phone to his ear, "hello?"

"Is this James Davison?"

"Yes and how may I help you?"

"Your parents have been involved in an accident. Please come to the city hospital."

He dropped the jar and Marilyn started whining.

"Marilyn, come with me."

"Where are we going to?"

"Just come with me, please don't be scared."
