What do you think her father will think of her, being the runt and all?" A voice proclaimed, having a hint of worry in it.

"I'm sure with a little help she won't just meet the standards, but exceed." Another voice could be heard, as one of the young kits struggled in attempt to open their eyes.

"Momma, look! I think she's trying to open her eyes finally!" A younger voice squeaked, the kit having felt the voice closer than the others.

"Whenever she feels is the right time for her eyes to open, she will try. Don't pressure her, you're a little loud," The cat farthest away said, her voice all crackled and old sounding.

The closest kit pouted. "Ugh, fine!"

The runt began to blink, taking in the light and seeing it's first rays of sunshine. Glancing around, she now noticed that the kit was next to her, her dark brown eyes and cream pelt shining in the heat.

"Hey, you opened them!" The kit took notice, pawing her nose.

"Amberkit, leave your sister alone. She's till tired, she had a rough night, unlike you." A black cat informed,  having white paws and yellow eyes. She seemed quite heavied in weight, but the kit didn't have any second thoughts about it, since it wasn't her number one priority.

Amberkit squealed. "I can't wait til' she talks!" She bounced up, rolling over and laying beside the black cats stomach.

"I must get going now. Ashenfoot, tell me straight away if Silverkit is having any problems," A gray cat said, walking out.

So, this kit is Amberkit, the black one is Ashenfoot, but who's this Silverkit? Is it m-me?

"I will. Have no worries,  Yellowfang,"  Ashenfoot remarked, her tail quietly thumping against the ground.

And so the gray ones Yellowfang. That's a cool name!

Silverkit turned her head, taking a glance of her surroundings. She noticed yet another kit, but it was still asleep, it's small snores barely audible.

Ashenfoot sat up, leaning over Silverkit and gripping her scruff firmly,  lifting her from the ground before moving back to her spot, setting her between her paws and next to her sister.

"Darkenedkit is still asleep, he's exhuasted," Ashenfoot purred, her tongue rasping against Silverkits fur in long strokes.

And so the other kit is Darkenedkit! Now, I know everyone's names!

"So, what're we going to do today? Are we going to meet new cats?" Amberkit asked, laying beside Silverkit, her head tilted up as she glanced at her mother.

"You just might, but you know the policy. No visits outside, you're not old enough," Ashenfoot replied through Silverkit's fur, sliding her tongue back into her mouth once she finished.

"Yea yea, I know," Amberkit mumbled, resting her head on her paws.

Ashenfoot chuckled quietly in laughter, beginning to do the same to Amberkit as she had done to Silverkit.

By the looks of Amberkits emotions, it was obvious she didn't enjoy her fur getting cleaned, even though her fur was brighter, so dirt tended to be more visible once in her fur.

Silverkit couldn't help but smile and maybe even laugh a little, at Amberkits grunting, since she was annoyed. Amberkit turned and glared at Silverkit, narrowing her eyes.

"It's not funny, so stop laughing," She said, flattening her ears in rising anger.

"Hey now, be nice," Ashenfoot warned,  lashing her tail side to side swiftly now.

Silverkit froze, struck with fear at the few moments she had seen the rage in her sister's eyes. It seemed almost as if she instantly changed from such innocence to pure hatrid in a flash.

S-sorry! Please, I didn't mean to!

Amberkit looked away, rolling onto her side, her back facing Silverkit. Ashenfoot  began to act as if it never happened, yet placed her head between the two small bodies, not wanting them to continue to fight with each other.

In the next few weeks or so, Silverkit began to develop the ability to talk and crawl, and began to learn more about her surroundings.  Which clan she was in, who she was to listen to, as well as many other basic needs. But, her sister, Amberkit, who could now walk and crouch, had other plans.
