Life in the den eventually got boring. Five moons? The kits thought it was a crazy amount of time, and as every day passed, weight went off their shoulders.
"I'm sooo boreddddd! Why can't we go outside?" The familiar cream kit, Amberkit, exclaimed.
"It won't be long before you can," Ashenfoot replied, a hint of irritation in her tone.
"You say that every time!" The agitated offspring remarked, her tone a bit high-pitched.
Ashe foot sighed before glancing at Silverkit, whom shook her head. "We can wait, right, Amberkit?"
Amberkit groaned. "Well I can't. "
"You're just impatient," Darkenedkit mewed, his head having a leaf on it.
"Chill out guys, it's no big deal!" Silverkit stood up,
padding over to Amberkit. "We can just play with the moss!"
"We always, do that," Amberkit grumbled, looking away. "Besides, I wanna meet everyone! Especially father!"
Ashenfoot finally reached her breaking point, her ears flattening as her pupils slit. "You will not, under any circumstance, meet him until there is a meeting. Do you understand?"
"Ok mom," Darkenedkit replied, as so did Silverkit. "Yes mom!"
Amberkit just sat there, zoned out yet once again, and didn't say a word.
"Amberkit?" Ashenfoots tone got harsh.
Amberkit shot up, lifting her head up, her ears flicking rapidly for a few seconds. "Hm?"
The mother got even more angry, only to sigh, trying to calm herself down as she did not like getting mad at her young kits. "Why won't you listen to me when I'm talking to you?"
Amberkit gave a cheesy grin in embarasssment, seeing both of her siblings gaze at her. "I um, I get stuck in thought."
Ashenfoot lashed her tail about, getting ready to reply, only to see Yellowfang walk in. "And how's that leg of yours, brave kit?"
Darkenedkit sparked up, nodding. "It feels better since you helped me with it!"
Yellowfang chuckled, sitting beside Ashenfoot, nodding in greeting. "That's good to hear. I see some of us are eager to go outside, am I right?"
Amberkit shook her head furiously. "Yes! I'm tired of being cooped in her all day!"
Silverkit shrugged a tad. "I guess exploring the camp would be nice, with all the new smells."
Yellowfang exchanged glances with Ashenfoot before walking out, her voice crackling like normal. "Good day to you then."
Amberkit grumbled to herself before walking to the den wall, scratching at the roots in boredom. "Boreddddd.."
Silverkit walked up beside Amberkit, and sat next to her. "Why don't we play-"
"I don't want to play with moss for crying out loud," She interrupted, flattening her ears as she swatted the roots, snatching dirt onto both of their pelts.
"I wasn't gonna say moss, sheesh," Silverkit huffed, looking and trotting back to her mother.
What made her get so aggresive over the past two moons?
A few more days passed, and it was obvious to everyone that Amberkit was not happy with her current shelter. She had went quiet, and only gave glances to others filled with contempt. As much as everyone tried to get her to go back to how she used to be, she wouldn't say a word.
Silverkit rolled around in her sleep, only to bump into the wall, fox tail lengths away from the nest, bursting awake after feeling a paw hit her a couple times.
"Psst, get up," Amberkit whispered, standing above her.
Silverkit tried to adjust to the faint light, glancing up at her older sister. "W-what?"
Amberkit chuckled, glaring at Darkenedkit and Ashenfoot. "Quiet, they're asleep."
Silverkit slowly stood jp, shaking the dirt off. "What are you doing?"
Amberkit grinned. "What am I doing? Im going outside."
