Silverkit flattened her ears, her eyes widening in shock. ''What? No! I- I'm just helping out because I have nothing else to do.''

Amberkit scoffed, rolling her dark brown eyes. ''Sure you are,'' She grumbled lowly. ''You and I both know dad wants us all warriors.''

''I know.. it's not fair,'' She whined, flicking her tail tip.

I should be able to be what I want to be!

''Yea well, it's a fair rule. This clan needs more warriors if we are to reach our goal,'' Amberkit replied with pride before standing up, walking away. ''Oh, and  just to be safe- if I were you, I'd make sure I'd stay out of sight when helping and dad's around.'' She said, having stopped for a moment and called out.

Silverkit nodded. ''I promise! I'll be fine!'' She said before getting up and trotting away.

Goal, huh? What exactly is that supposed to mean? No one's said anything a stupid goal!

Silverkit knew that Brightflower or whomever hadn't moved into the nursery, so she assumed she was in the warriors den and needed to be informed that it was time to switch dens.

Although, no one but two cats were there, talking. "Um, excuse me? Which one of you is Brightflower?" She asked politely.

"That would be me, dear," Replied the cat whom was laying down on her stomach, her pelt striped with golden and tan hues.

Silverkit giggled, kicking the soil lightly in embarassment. "Oh, well, I believe it's time for you to head to the nursery."

Brightflower chuckled. "Ah, has Yellowfang sent you to attend to me?"

Silverkit nodded excitingly in return, stepping aside as the queen got up and headed out of the den, walking in the direction of the nursery.

This isn't half as bad as I'd thought it'd be! I could get used to this!

Silverkit skipped over to the nursery alongside the queen, sitting down near her after she had settled in a nest that was unoccupied.

"So, how's your siblings?"  Brightflower asked with a warm smile.

"They're fine. Amberkit spends her time with Brokenstar mostly, and Darkenedkit just hangs around mom. I guess he doesn't want to be embarassed from his leg," She assumed, laying down.

"Well, with his leg, hopefully he wont be held back or never considered a warrior," The queen replied softly.

"Yea, I guess he's just scared," Silverkit shrugged.

Days went by, yet Silverkit never grew bored of her little handy job. Yellowfang always let her do some work that Runningnose may have had to do, whom was completely fine with it.

Sometimes, Silverkit could spot Amberkit playing and helping out Darkenedkit, even though he had little motivation to try. Unfortunately, almost every time Silverkit spotted them, he fell over and tripped from what he was doing.

"Hey, Silverkit, come over here!" Amberkit called one day.

"Hold on, I'll be right there!" Silverkit replied, putting moss back in its pile before heading over.

"Darkenedkit said he wanted to challenge you as a test," Amberkit smiled, while Darkenedkit was distracted with a leaf that clung to Silverkits pelt.

Silverkit gazed over ar Darkenedkit, giggling before plucking the leaf off and spitting it out. "Okay. What game?"

"Well, we really dont have a name for it." Her older sister said back in protest.

"Oh, okay." Silverkit watched Amberkit back up and Darkenedkit go in front of her, who was crouching low.

His bum leg was outstretched further back, yet Silverkit understood why pretty well. Crouching down herself, she gazed over at Amberkit who inspected her younger brother's stance. "Good, very well done."

"Now, show her your most successful move," She instructed.

Silverkit instantly noticed Darkenedkits muscles tensing, and before she knew it, he leapt up and bolted to her side. Although, an uneasy feeling came across her along with something powerful, and in return, she let out a screech and toppled over.

Opening her turquiose eyes, she looked over at Darkenedkit, who was standing there with a smile on his face. Amberkit was sitting beside him, who nodded, "Good! You've improved!"

That's when Silvedkit noticed something bright was slipping onto the earth, tensing in confusion. Her face felt like it was burning, along with her shoulder, like she had just been cut open.

Was this pain?
