Episode 5

I woke up at the sound of my phone buzzing with a message, I immediately took it and saw it.

One message from Richy

Richy : so my attack brought you to duskwood.

Maya : Richy thank God you're okay.

Richy : Thanks to your help 🥺.

Maya : it was the least I could do.

Richy : sorry gotta go doctors are here.

Maya : sure just rest.

Richy : okay, Adios.

I almost went back to sleep when my phone buzzed again, it was an unknown number calling me, I answered it.

"Want my advice right this moment," the blurred voice said then continued "RUN," 

I jolted up from the bed and looked out the window but I didn't see anyone, I started thinking who should I go to, Jessy, no she already helped plenty, Phil, I should go to Phil and Aurora is not that far away so it's the easiest way.

I used the back window to escape and I was stupid for thinking it was safe because suddenly strong hands were wrapped around me from behind and I was lifted off the ground.

I started kicking and screaming "let go of me, " I was freaking out at first but I went crazy when a piece of cloth was placed on my mouth and nose and felt myself drift away just as I heard gun shot then everything went dark.

Maya : past

this room is starting to drive me insane, huh, drive me insane they already think I'm insane but I'm not, the only explanation for what's happening with me is guilt, I feel guilty, I feel responsible for her death, maybe if I didn't fight with her she wouldn't have gone to duskwood which means she wouldn't have died.

"Princess, talk to me, " I heard my father's voice but my mind drifted to the image of her dead body left to rot in the woods and I felt my breath quicken and tears filled my eyes as I said "I killed her, " my voice is barely a whisper but I'm sure dad heard it because he shook his head at me but I was too far gone to give him any attention.

"I KILLED HER, " I screamed then got up and started destroying everything in the room and almost stabbed myself with a piece of shattered glass when dad caught my hand from behind and hugged me so now my back was pressed against his chest just as Hannah entered the room and I said between my cries "I killed her, dad if I haven't fought with her she wouldn't have gone there dad, I killed her, " he started soothing me with gentle strokes on my head and he said "it's not your fault Princess, it never was, It never will be, " and after he said that the nurses from the asylum I was in came into the room and put the needle on my arm and I went to deep, fast sleep.

'Present '

I woke up and my head was pounding like crazy, I looked around and saw a dark figure leaning on the wall, I let out a yelp and took the perfume and threatened to throw it at him, her, it, whatever. "who are you?" I asked and the figure moved out of the shadows and said "really you're going to perfume me, " he had a hoodie on his head and he was wearing a mask.

"Come on Maya, it's me... it's Jake, " He said and I asked sarcastically "you're Jake, how can I be sure?"

"ask whatever you want, " he said casually and I thought that a normal question would be easy, anyone could have hacked his phone and saw our conversations but a trick question could work. "if you're Jake then you should have seen the photos and videos I sent you yesterday, " he was taken aback and then asked, "what I didn't receive anything who did you send it to?" I let out a sigh of relief and put back the perfume to where it was and he caught up immediately and said "trick question, of course, you'll do that, "

"what? how? I don't understand?" I asked and he took a chair and sat beside my bed and explained "when I said it's a bad idea coming here I didn't lie, they almost got you today, "

"Who are they?" I asked and he immediately answered "I have no idea but good thing I decided to show up here today, " I nodded my head and looked at him and saw the mask then asked, "you don't trust me enough to remove it?"

"Maya I-, " I raised my hand to cut him off and asked, "if I tell you something I never told anyone before that involves Hannah... will you remove it?" he looked deep in thought at first then nodded his head.

"I... I recently remembered that I... that I knew Hannah, I knew Jennifer and I knew Phil, " I said and waited for his reaction and saw him put his hand on the mask but I said "no, not until you hear everything, I don't want to push you, "

" it turned out Hannah, Jennifer and I have been childhood friends.." I told Jake everything single thing I remembered and by the time I was done tears were running down my face and I felt him wrap his hands around me and he pulled me into a hug.

after a while, I felt myself calm down then Jake has pulled away from me and removed his mask, and God, I'm so damn, he has dark eyes that looked exactly like night his dark hair looked so silky, he had a very sharp jawline and I put my hand on his cheek, he pulled away at first but then relaxed under my touch then he asked: "not what you expected?"

"better than what I expected, just making sure you're real, " I said and he chuckled at my comment and it looked like he hasn't smiled in ages, and I just hope I can bring happiness to him by bringing his sister back to him.
