The Battle Begins

Clint managed to land the hovercraft somewhat gently (ok, not really) and we piled out, stretching our legs and priming our weapons.

That's when I glanced at the sky. "Nat?" I asked, pointing at the grotesque creatures swarming out of the portal. "What are those?" The Russian simply shook her head. None of us were prepared for what was going to happen next.

Once the creatures spotted us, they flew at us, firing blue streaks of electricity at us. However, they weren't too seemingly smart, and made for an easy opponent, as their long staffs made close quarters combat cumbersome for them. I sliced two of them with my twin knives, cutting through their armor and rubbery skin.

It seemed that the rest of the Avengers were doing just as good as I was. Nat was killing them with a single shot, Clint knocking them down with waves of arrows, and Capsicle was punching away, blocking energy with his SHIELD.

After finishing off my last creature, I looked at our surroundings. New York lay in ruins of skyscrapers and rubble. This city used to be one of the busiest, with people rushing through the streets this way and that to work, home, and shops. I glanced at the sky that was now filled with creatures from the portal. There were thousands of them, and five of us, assuming my father didn't murder Tony.

Then it hit me. My father had always seemed to be brave, strong, and unbreakable, when, in turn, he was frail, his emotions out of check. He had never shown any weaknesses to the Avengers besides the obvious. And that weakness was me.

Calculating a plan, I took off running for Stark Tower, hoping to draw the attention of the creatures. When none showed any interest in me, I cast up illusions of myself, sprinting behind me. And at the foot is Stark towers, I let the illusions run into my body and vanish.

That angered the creatures, just at I had hoped. They had found someone that was potentially dangerous, and this one was to eliminate the threat to it's leader.

I felt the scepter break skin, and I fell to the ground, my mouth open, a scream ringing in my ears.

I am SOOO sorry for not updating.... Life has between so hectic between making decisions for high school, our school powderpuff game (where the girls play flag football and the boys cheerlead) homework, and soccer, I haven't had much time to look on YouTube for accurate descriptions of what happens next in the movie, as they took it off if Netflix, or time to just sit down and write. However, school is winding down, and its spring break, so I am going to be updating a lot hopefully this week, and I am most definitely going to be prewriting chapters for my updates. So again, I'm really sorry for not updating in forever, and I promise I will get back on track really soon.
