I sat in my room, starting at the ceiling, hoping that my father didn't kill any of my friends while they were our capturing him. They had been gone for a couple of hours when I heard the jet come to a landing on the deck. It took all of my willpower not to run out and greet them. My father would be there, with them, and escorted to the cage. I didn't want to see him, his green eyes, slicked hair, or silver and green armor. He reminded me of everything I had received, and everything that had been torn from me. And then there were his crimes.
Last year, my father had almost killed both me and my uncle. He had blown up SHIELD HQ, and compromised Clint, no doubt with his magic. If that want enough to hold against my father, I didn't know what would be.
So I waited in my room for someone to come and get me. I knew they would, Nat knew how I worked. If I didn't want to take part on something, I would stay on my room, wait to be fetched. However, I also knew that Fury would want him interrogated, and quickly, so I was stuck waiting.
However, I didn't have to wait long, as Tony, having raised me for several months, knew I didn't like talking about my father. He peeked into my room, his eyes full of worry. "Hela, he's locked up. Join us in the lab?"
I nodded, sitting up, grabbing my knives from the beside table and following the billionaire out of my crampt quarters.
The walk from my room to the labs usually didn't take long, but in order to completely avoid my father, we took the long way, going as far away from the cage as possible.
We walked in silence, our footsteps and the hustle of Agents at work the only sound intelligible. Our lack of conversation allowed me to focus my thoughts on my father. Having him here on base complicated things, a lot. I had to avoid him, and I knew it. However, I couldn't forget what we went thorough, and how I had grown to care for him. While part of me wanted to punch my father, the other wanted to run to him, be held in his arms, feel his arms around me.
But I knew it was a crude dream, a dream that made be sense, had no place asking reality. But I still hoped.
