My legs shake and I get hotter and even more nervous as I put my dress on. I have on a red dress that has a black see-through lace over it, so that I can hide my camera and microphone. I add on some red Mac lipstick and red bottom heels. I grab my black clutch and brush my hair walking out Amy's apartment. I walk out the door and Officer Tom is already standing out front. "How do I look?" I ask him.
"Your beautiful, now look". he says pulling something out of his pocket in a clear small bag. "This is your microphone and your camera combined." he says pulling it out of the bag and putting it on my dress, the black part to blend in. This camera/microphone is so small. It looks like a button.
"I need you to listen to me very carefully, Lindy." he says getting quieter.
"Okay, yea I'm listening."
"So I'm going to be parked over there and when he pulls off, I pull off. Okay?" He says pointing at the black car across the street. I just nod at him and watch him walk back to it. Catherine is in the passengers seat. I wave to her and she waves back. Before Tom gets in the car he tells me to cut on the microphone. I give him a thumbs up and do it immediately.
"Testing.. testing." I say into the mic and he gives me the signal thumbs up as well too. I can't hear him speak but he can hear me and soon the guy that pulls up.
I walk toward the end of the road where this mysterious guy will be picking me up at. I wait for about 3 minutes before they actually show. It's a gray car and I don't actually recognize their face until they open the door. Wow!
"Told you I'd see you some time before I leave". he says then chuckles. I smile and get into the car, looking over at officer Tom before getting in. I get inside and it's really dark. Okay, that's something a killer would keep. Tented windows in the back.. possibly to hide a few body's. I look in the back and look over at him and smile kind of disgusted.
"So umm... this is a pretty neat car." I tell him staring dead into his eyes.
"Yea.. it was passed down from my dad, he died earlier this year." he says staring back.
"Ohh.. I'm sorry to hear that." I say feeling kind of bad but having or no mercy for him. Why should I ? He's using that as an excuse to cover up. So pathetic.
"Should we get going?" He asks then smiles. Not like a good smile, but like a "Im gonna have another body hidden" kind of smile. You know? Those extra weird smiles. I don't say anything, I just smile back. We start to drive and everything just goes to the back of my throat. I look back to make sure Officer Tom is following and he is.
"Is everything okay?" He asks.
"Yea, everything is fine. Why wouldn't it be?" I ask him.
"You seem nervous." he tells me. Uh-Oh! Never show how nervous you are to him. Maybe I need to ease up a little bit and breath. Okay.. I can do it i'm calm. We drive a long straight road and come up to a railroad track. We make it through, then all of a sudden before officer Tom can the railroad crossing gate goes down. We keep driving but now I am extremely nervous, but trying now to show it. I know everything will be fine because I'm connected with the gps as well. Anyways, it's not just officer Tom connected with the gps. Theres his detectives back at the building helping out in case something goes wrong.
OFFICER TOM'S POINT OF VIEW.
Lindy is doing so well, managing her nervousness a little but he can see it. She has to dim it down a little. This is the tricky part... coming up to the railroads.
"Guys make sure gps is working fine" i demand my detective team over the phone.
"It's working fine Tom" Detective Bryan tell me. Great, everything is gonna be okay. Just when I thought nothing could go wrong it already has. A damn train is in the middle. The railroad hate goes down and I wait for the train to go pass... but that's the tricky part. A train wasn't coming. Dammit he set us up! He must have knew someone was following him and he set up a computer connected siren to go off! If we don't get behind them now Lindy will be dead. All of a sudden I can't hear a word they are saying now.
