Chapter 5: Break up

Y/n POV

"Fight, fight, fight!" Are heard as jaylen is punching my face. "Stay away from Alycia." I wasn't going to do that. I've known her almost most my life. I can't just not ever see her. She's part of my pod. "I can't do that, she's in the pod with emi and I. We can't just separate." She rolled her eyes. Started boiling my organs. It was getting difficult to breath. "Go back to the ocean you don't belong here, and you'll never belong here." I used all my force to push her off. "I will never leave my pod. And jaylen for your information you don't deserve what happened." She looked so angry.

She was running up to me and knock me down, until the principal stopped it. "Hey, what's going on. Everyone to class, now! Go on everyone."

As I was going to walk to class. "Y/n my office now." I nodded my head, and followed the principal to the office.

"Relax I'm only here to clean up your little wounds." I only nodded. She spoke again. "Why was Jaylen beating you up?" I didn't know if I really wanted to tell the principal that Jaylen is basically trying to take my place in the pod. "It's nothing Miss." I say nodding my head side to side. She frowned not buying what I said, but she let it go. "Ok, your all set. Please go back to class." I nodded and headed to class.

As I walked in the door. I got stares, my friends looked at me but I ignored them. I glanced at Alycia she was sitting with Jaylen. It honestly broke me. I just sat next to our human friend Gigi.

As we were doing 4x+5y+x=12 Gigi spoke. "Are you ok? Jaylen has no right to steal Alycia from you. Or your pod, you can't let her take over like this." I looked at Gigi I wasn't trying to be rude she was only trying to help. "I'm trying to do my work in peace. Especially finish my homework before class ends. So please save your pity." I say looking at her then to my math work.

As I finished my last question the bell rang. I packed my stuff and left class. I knew the girls were following. I go to my locker, only to be smacked against it by jaylen. "Your a math nerd. I need you to do our homework while we go out to the cafe." I turned around and knocked her off me. "I'm not doing your homework or my friends homework." I say storming off. "Hey y/n." She says. I looked back only to see her Inter whine her fingers with Alycia. I looked away and walked off.

I headed home, and flopped on my bed. "Hey kid what's up. Your not home this early. I'm heading to the cafe. Want to join me?" I looked at my dad and shook my head no. "Are you and Alycia fighting again?" He tells me. I look at him. "No, It's jaylen, she's taking my pod. She's took Alycia. Dad, I was close to dating Alycia. Now I've lost her to jaylen." I say hugging him. "Hey, hey. I know I'm not around, coming back here ive been busy taking over your grandpa's business. Ever since Ricky told me about you. I needed to mature before you were born. I've always loved your mom. All I can say here y/n don't let jaylen steal the person you love, and your sea family." He tells me pulling me into a hug. "Thanks dad, I love you." I tell him. He hugged me tighter. "I love you too my little mermaid." I smiled into the hug.

I started doing my homework once my dad left to the cafe. Science wasn't so hard, English was super easy. And as for history it wasn't hard, but it's not my subject.

After my homework, I decided to play some video games on my cool pc set. Most popular game in Australia Gold Coast is Fortnite so why not play.

"Hey y/n, I was knocking on your door, but I assumed you was playing. Your friends are here." I was focused on the game. "Mom, if jaylen's here tell them all to leave." My mom came closer to me. "She's not here, your friends are worried about you." I sighed. And walked down stairs.

I was pulled into a hug by Alycia. I hesitated a bit to hug her back. I was surprised in a way. The others came and hugged me too. "Your ok right?" Emi tells me. I sigh and give her a thumbs up.

"What were you doing in your room?" David says. I looked down, they know something is up when I'm playing video games. "Nothing, I was just finishing homework. "Oh, ok the nerd." Lissie says. I punch her on the shoulder. "Shut up." We all laugh.

Soon I hear a knock on the door. My mom walks over and gets it, it was jaylen. "Is my girlfriend here? I need to talk to her." My mom looked at me then back at jaylen. "Your not welcomed here, and even if your girlfriend is here, she's busy spending time with my daughter and her friends." My mom says closing the door.

My mom sat on the table. "Alycia care to explain, that this morning you were nearly going to kiss my daughter and your apparently dating jaylen." Alycia gulped. "Look Alycia, your older by three years from my daughter. Only reason why she's in your grade and in your pod is cause she's smart. If your not into y/n please do not mess with her heart." Alycia nodded. My mom was right.

"Ricki, I would never mess with y/n feelings. I just can't seem to get away from jaylen she controls me and the pod. She never leaves me alone. She doesn't like y/n and doesn't want any of us with her." I looked down. "You are a pod, all of you born at sea, grew up together, you can't let any land girl destroy that bond." My mom tells us. They all nodded their heads.

A loud bang sound came from upstairs. I got up and ran up stairs with my bat. I opened the door. As the others behind me. "This is what happens when you take my friends y/n!" Jaylen says jumping out my window.

I was soo mad, she broke my pc, I worked so hard for it. It was a $2,000 set. And now it's all destroyed.

"She will pay for this. This cost y/n a fortune. Where does your girlfriend live Alycia." Alycia was worried about me. "She lives three streets back from us." Alycia informs my mom. "You girls head on home now, accept you Alycia." My mom says stern.

We were walking to jaylens house. My mom knocked on the door. A tall blonde woman came out, she looked fancy. Jaylen was rich. "How May i help you." This woman says. "Mom who's at the door." Jaylen says. Her mom letting her see. She hugged Alycia. "Your here babe, you can finally see my gaming set." She yells excited.

"No, I don't want to see it. What you did to y/n gaming set was beyond messed up." Alycia says pretty mad. "Jaylen, are you crazy. You broke her gaming set." Her mom tells her.

"She did in deed, it was a $2,000 set. She's going to have to pay for it." My mom says stern. "I didn't do it." Jaylen says. "My daughter says she didn't do it, and I believe her." All of us were very upset.

"Babe, come on eat dinner with my family." Jaylen says all happy. "Yes, come on in, my daughters girlfriend is always welcomed." The woman said.

Alycia thought for a minute. "No, not after what you did to y/n gaming set. Matter of fact, I'm breaking up with you. You isolate me from my friends." After Alycia said that. Jaylen started begging, but Alycia just walked away with us.

Alycia walked upstairs to my room. As I close the door. I sat on my bed, my dad heard what happen and he cleaned my room. I looked to the corner of my room where my set was. A tear came down my left cheek soon following from my right as well.

Alycia noticed I was sad, she hugged me. "You were back into those times weren't you? Like the last time we've ever fought. You'd play all day everyday." I nodded.

She pinched my chin and turned me facing her. I looked into her green eyes as she looked into my y/e/c.

"I'm sorry, what jaylen did was my fault. But not just that-." She pauses. She looked away, away from my eyes. Then back at them, she looked sad for me. She looked down to my lips. Looking back to my eyes. And without thinking I smashed my lips to hers. As our lips were in sync for a split second I pulled away.

"Y/n i lo—." We got interrupted by the door opening.

Just a good cliff hanger, but something is coming up from mako island that will not go any good for any of the mermaids but that's next chapter.
