Chapter 8: Gaining Trust

Y/n POV

After receiving that letter, didn't know what to do but think who is this person. Why were they helping me.

I decided to walk to the cafe. I saw Gigi, I asked her for a peach mango smoothie. "That's weird, you get the same drink as my bestie Alycia." She says excited. "Oh really?" She nodded. "Yeh nobody gets peach mango here. It's usually watermelon mango." I didn't say anything to that I just sighed as she walked away getting my order.

"Believe it or not guys that girl over there ordered the same drink as Alycia." Gigi informed her friends. Yet I knew I was the one being talked about and practically heard everything.

Alycia and Jaylen as well as the other girls came up to me. "So, are you stalking us? And why are you drinking a juice not on the menu?" Jaylen says. "I love peaches and mangos, I thought custom orders were allowed I'm sorry." I say not liking this at all. "My girlfriend is only saying because I love peach mango smoothies, it's nice to know someone else likes it." Alycia says. But what stung most is her calling Jaylen her girlfriend. "Oh, umm yeh I guess so." I say shyly and hiding my blush and sadness.

I knew peach mango was Alycia's favourite. It definitely is mine too. I never expected Jaylen to say something. "Not trying to sound rude, but you hugged Alycia at mako, so you seem to really be stalking here. If the drink is some way to get her attention it's not going to work you know." I looked startled, I don't know why she'd think that, yet this isn't real but it feels real. "Umm, no I'm not stocking Alycia, I was out of my head I might of confused Alycia with someone else, I'm sorry if I made you uncomfortable Alycia." She didn't say anything she just nodded.

I was about to get up until, Gigi spilled the whole pitcher of water on me by accident, of course she doesn't know I'm a mermaid. I looked at them all. "Omg I'm sorry. Hey it's just water!!" She yells out as I ran off jumping off the dock.

No one's POV

"Did she just run off as if she was you know a mermaid?" David says. "I reckon he's right." Lissie says.

"Only one way to find out ay? Why don't we check it out?" Jaylen says.

"No, I think one person can do it. I'll go." Alycia says

"No, what if she like does something to you leeshy. She's obsessed with you." Jaylen implies.

"Jaylen get over yourself, if she likes me, then maybe she'll listen to me don't you think?" Alycia adds on

"She has a point guys." Emi says

Y/n POV

I swam all the way to the moon pool. I started crying. I miss my pod my parents my life. Right now I'm so alone, no parents no friends completely alone. I miss Alycia, seeing her with Jaylen is killing me.

"Hey, I figured you'd be here." I turned around to see Alycia pop up and open her eyes. "I guess you found out what I am then all you ?" Alycia nodded her head. "Yeh, that's just great." Alycia touched my shoulder. "Hey don't be ashamed, my pod is a bit tense especially my girlfriend. But they'll come around." She says so calmly. Just like she does when I had anxiety attacks.

"Y/n, now is your time! Kiss the girl. She'll remember you."

I jumped, I was too startled. "Hey, are you ok, I didn't mean to make things uncomfortable for you." Alycia says. She was now facing me, and this voice saying now now now, was annoying me but I listened to it.

I kissed Alycia. She didn't let go. The memories flew back between us, since we were kids our first kiss, her first kiss. To the very first fight, to literally not long ago when we kissed last. "Alycia!!" Jaylen yells.
